So I've installed viper 5704 alarm on my wife's 06 xB 5speed over the weekend but i'm having some problems with it. Also added glass break sensor and tilt sensor, just haven't tested them yet. The only functions right now is door/lock unlock and shock alarm. Cant get remote start to work, getting an error message on my remote and headlight flash 7 times which means manual transmission mode is off. Cant enable MT mode with remote, tried a few times. Also can't pair my remote with the brain, tried from remote functions and using control button on the antenna. I don't understand how I'm able to use remote to lock/unlock and read messages, but its not paired? Here is my wiring, let me know if i missed anything. Thanks

if manual transmission mode is off, you need to change it in menu 3.

are you doing the proper sequence when turning the car off? i forget what it is, but you gotta remote start it before you turn it off so the alarm knows the car is in neutral.

stupid questions: hood is closed when trying, right? you have the neutral safety wire tapped to ground? you have the on/off switch with the black plug plugged into the brain and turned on?

it seems as tho your remote is paired if its arming/disarming, so i dont know why youre trying to pair it again. but its a pain in the balls to pair it cuz the instructions arent very clear on one step and i always forget what it is. lol.

all of your connections seem good tho.

lemme know if any of this helps. if you need me to, ill go pull a manual up and look it over quick and double check stuff.

Yes, on/off switch is plugged in and on, hood is closed, but my neutral switch is tapped to e-brake and its on too. Menu 3 for MTS? I'm doing what manual says, start the engine->put e-brake on->press and release brake->press any button and wait 20sec->press and release brake->and here i don't get 5 light flashes like it supposed to. So I can't even turn MTS on like that.

When I say menu 3, I mean in programming. Open the door, Turn car on then off. Push n hold valet button. It'll chirp once, don't jump the gun, keep holding it! It'll chirp twice, hold strong! After the third chirp release. Then push n release once, then push n hold. Hit the lock button on the remote. It should chirp once. This programs the alarm for manual transmission. But it comes out of the box programmed this way.

You hooked up the door trigger wire, right? This is needed for programming.

YES it works now!:D Thank you so much! How come viper giude gave me wrong instructions to program MTS? Also i was missing H3/2 going to constant 12v white/blue, so i fixed that too. The only problem now is clutch bypass. Have to hold the clutch to start the car. I have black/yellow from CIS hooked up to h2/9 dark/blue status out. I was reading somewhere i must have that little ''shifter'' sign on on my remote screen in order to make it work like that. How do i do that?

Honestly, I have never hooked up one of these new alarms with manual transmission mode the right way. I still do it the old school, dangerous way of just bypassing the clutch altogether so I don't have an answer for you on that one. But I can go peruse thru a manual in a lil bit n see what I can see. Glad you got it goin tho!

I ended up hooking up a relay to activate clutch switch. Now i can't get it to work in MTS mode, when i get out, lock the doors and engine shuts off by itself. Car just keeps running. Not a big deal i guess, i'll just leave it in neutral and turn the car off like normal. Whats the point of MTS anyway? Doesn't really make it any safer. I'd rather add some magnetic switches to my shifter.

Like I said, I always do it old school n bypass the clutch. If you do it that way, just go back into menu 3 n do 2 chirps instead of 1 to put it in automatic mode.
