04 toaster with a 5 speed.
55k miles on it.

Randomly when i go from stand still to first gear. when i first give it some gas I can hear a small squeal like a belt slipping or rubbing.

Sometimes it will squeal LOUD for about 5 seconds then when i rev the engine it goes away? I can never get it to do this long enough for me to pop the hood.

Should I be looking at putting in a new one? do I do the tensioner puly also? That's what you had to do with the S10's.

Just try replacing belts- its time anyway if they are original since 04. Even though 55K is not much, they are probably dried out and glazed. I dont think its the pulley.

Ditto. This is especially true if you have removed or destroyed your wheel well liners (like me). Mine has similar miles and is an '04 and I'm starting to get a little noise too.

Time to maintain!
