Hey guys, I want to replace the stock head unit on my 05 XB. Will I need to change any of the connections if I were to purchase a touchscreen head unit from a 2011+ Tc, xb or a e150 corolla? Id prefer for it to be plug and play, but if anyone has done this before, what connectors did you purchase to connect the newer radio?

You should be ok, but just be warned that you are getting into the years where Toyota started changing the wiring and antenna plug styles. Worst case if it doesn't plug in you would have to order an antenna plug adapter and a harness adapter for both the car and radio from Metra Electronics and wire them together.

The factory 2011 Alpine touch screen won't directly plug onto the 2005 Scion wire harness.

The factory 2011 Pioneer touch screen won't directly plug onto the 2005 Scion.

Not gonna be Plug & Play easy

The electrical connectors are different from 2005-2011........infact, you could be going from 2005 Pioneer radio to 2005 Pioneer radio and there's 2 out of 3 chances that the radio won't have the same connectors.
