I was talking with some people about some confidental information (you might be able to read between the lines here) about the toyota bb. I know from other threads that there is a different "call number" for the engine inside our overseas brothers and sisters. The question is what are the differences? Is the displacment and engine and all of the other stuff the same or is it quite different?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Sorry I missed this the first time around. For the current NCP versions, the differences are a MAP (Japan) vs. a MAF (US) sensors. In turn, there are different ECUs and such since fuel grades in US vs Japan are different. Besides that.... still 1nzfe.... still pretty much the same. Its really not economical to get a JDM motor if thats what you're thinking. Id try to do a standalone and change it to a MAP sensor on your current motor. (Ive heard its been done here) Advantage: JDM FI options are available!
