I miss the small shops I grew up with down in Texas. I always went to the same small old shop that also did semi tires and other things. They were the guys that did tires, and then a couple miles down the road was the alignment and lube shop where for $100 you got the alignment. All these guys worked hard and were hungry, but they never lied to you or inflated the service needed. The last alignment I did before I left Texas, I showed up with all the parts, and all they needed to do was install tie rod ends and align on fresh tires. The trick was, I got in right before lunch, and left 6 tallboys for the guys on the front seat for lunch. It was something I saw my Dad do often, and damn if it didn't make the work happen a little quicker with certain people.
