RESEARCH!! The top two cars right now in the U.S. that spend less time on the dealer lots than ANY other cars sold in the U.S. are the XB and the TC. This car has so many features in the base model and if you shop around, the add-ons are not expensive, but don't buy the add-ons from the dealer. They gouge you on the pricing. Fog lights are $350.00 at the dealer and on the net you can buy them brand new for $192.00 and they are a breeze to install. This car gets great mileage and 5 adults can be seated comfortably. And the looks you get in this unique car make you feel like you made the right decision to get something different than the rest of the crowd.
I bought my Scion Xb because of the great gas mileage, love how much room I have inside the car. Once she got I home it got lowered, 18s, tint and a system. She has sat that way for almost a year now the rendering is down and the car will be going full insane show. I recommed the Scion Xb to everyone.
The style and the price. I love the box. Plus, my other choices were in the 25-31K range. I figured I could get the box that I love and mod it with everything I wanted (navigation, leather, tv's, woodgrain, rims, lowering, grilles, tint, etc.) and still come out way less than my other choices.
Well for me it was between a scion XB, or the TC, and also a cadillac CTS, acura rsx type-s.... the determining factor was the base price of the xb and the limited edition just comming out and being the first in my state to have the limited edition....now im glad with my purchase its a great car
I first saw the tail end of a Scion commercial when there weren't even any in town yet. I didn't know what that funny box turning a corner and fading away down an urban canyon was, but I knew I wanted one. I recognized a "Tokyo City Car" or "Urban Utility Vehicle" when I saw one.
My response was "I want that! What is it?"
Finding out later that it was a Toyota and what all was included in the base price sealed the deal. I drove a demo a total of 4 miles and bought mine.
i don't remember where i was when i saw the car...probably it was online...but i really liked it....no, i loved it...
i drove the xb back in 2004...i was afraid to buy it because i didn't know enough about it...not alot of people in my area have them...i actually went to the dealership 3 times and got pre-approved for the loan..i decided to wait and did a whole years worth of research....i read alot on "other" websites...i then decided that a used car would be better for me...until i started pricing them...they were selling as much as a new one...i know i called at least 10 dealerships looking for a new one...the closest one was an hour away....i originally wanted the black cherry with 5 speed...the only one they could get me was a blue onyx automatic...anyways, i bought it over the phone....the first time i drove it was on the way home...
i would have loved to get the '05 mustang gt, but just didn't have the funds...plus, a 4 door car suits me better and i have a '66 mustang in my driveway!! sorry for the book!
When I first show the concept (bbx) in '03, I knew I had to have one. I even got in trouble with my boss for having it as my wall paper and screensaver on my work pc. (I was doing internet auto sales for a Chrysler/Jeep dealership!)
I had the bB model produced from TAMIYA, and then I saw the bbX at the Moscone Auto Show before its release. I had a few mags from Japan w/ flipped out bBs, and knew it would be my commute car since I had put 48k miles on my Matrix in a year and a half.
After the birth of my daughter we decided that a convertible just would not do especially since it was a pain in the @$$ to take the car seat in and out of the backseat.
We first saw the "box" on 680 one day and we laughed at it saying, "I drive a box!". It was different, but we never thought about getting one at that time. Then when it came to trade in my first "baby", 1997 Mitsubishi Spyder GS-T I was sad (I cried leaving the dealership). Pics of my baby, sorry if they are big. And yes those are my Assasyns that I love so much...see, I love chrome!
My fiance did a lot of research on the xB and I even went to the dealership to check it out. I wanted to buy one right on the spot, but he wanted to do more research on it. We liked the price! Compared to the other SUV's and sedans, it was a good deal. (And for those who do know me, I dislike minivans! Just my thing so if you drive one or use to drive one it's nothing against you it's the van itself. ) The gas mileage, the space (I have a 2yo and 2 stepkids), the look itself and the potential modding (my fiance thought this at first then me later!).
But yeah, it all started out with us making fun of it, but in a good way and now we have one. That's why my plates say "IDRVABX" and my frame says, "Because Minivans Suck".
The gas prices are what drove us to get one. I was driving my 97 T100 almost 50 miles a day for work and it was adding up FAST. That and it had 190000 miles on it and it was starting to show signs of problems so I decided to bail on it before it became an issue. Wanted to get a smaller car since I just sit in traffic all day anyway and at 6'3" it's hard to find a smaller cheaper car I fit in comfortably. My 6'4" grandpa bought one, I rode with him in it and fell in love. (before that I made fun of them lol) I had a custom mini truck before I bought the bigger T100 so I was kind of eager to get back into customizing my ride. Needless to say, I had wheels, tining, and a sunroof installed less than a week after getting the car We're a Toyota family anyway so it was a no-brainer
A friends sister got the Black Cherry and told me all about it and how when she and her husband got back from Alaska, they were going to get an xB too.
I went on line to do research and find out a reason why she shouldn't. All I found on the vehicle after extensive research, was really good and very interesting. Cheap to buy, cheap to insure, cheap on gas, stylish, and a Toyota.
One day I went to the dealership "just to look". I took a test drive and that did it! It was a tight little ride and a Blast to drive. I traded in a Chrysler Town and country and got a lot of extras on the xB and I am VERY happy with my xB!
HAted them when they first came out, thought they looked "funny".... Two years later I can't get ENOUGH of them! Guess it just took time to adjust to such a different look. LOVED the price/Love the gas mileage/LOVED the add- ons =)
MOST OF ALL... the set prices and no negotiating! LOL
my parents were considering a newer car for me since my Tercel has been totaled. they want the car to be a Toyota that is 100% made in Japan because they are more reliable than any other cars in their opinion. my bro told my parents that they should get a Scion xB for me (i think he said that is because he want to drive one too). the other reason is that it saves gas, the room inside, and the pure pricing...
since i first saw scion in 2000 i think i fell in love wit it. it was somethin new and out the blu..and than the xb well i like to stand out so wat better way of doin than to get an xb and hook it up..it ain't no civic,no integra, are no of those common shits....it's it own little thing...and i will stand out at the spots when i get mines
