MAY the 5th be with you

Went to work, made a trunk panel for another xB enthusiast.

Today I celebrate 2years having owned my 2006.5 that I fondly refer to as #theLexBproject

I used the force to add hood struts to the xB. I'm thinking thats good for no less then 15hp but only if you pet the dashboard.

Yeah, did that too.....after neither of the diy fixes worked on it......but what made light go away was new oring seal on gas cap. Had replaced it with new oem cap but it just didn't feel like it tightened up enuff like the old one did. So i took oring off new cap and put it on the old cap and code went bye bye for good. But wait....replacing charcoal canister made fillups normal again without gas cutting off and having to fill slowly.

at times I have the same problem with filling up
mostly when its cold out
I threw a new OEM cap on it not that long ago.
and still have the old one somewhere.
I'm just tired of the lights coming on every 500 hundred miles or so.

I know the exact next thing I'm doing sometime today
is pulling the screw I saw in my tire last night.
I haven't lost air but you know once you yank it out
it will leak
I just wanted to be near a compressor when I messed with it
in case I have to plug it.
Last night I swapped driver doors with one of my backyard xBs. (My buddy CJ did all the hard work) Wish I could have taken pictures, but it was hectic and we were kind of in a hurry since there are so many feral cats in my neighborhood, I didn't want any of them getting into the donor xB while we were working on the carport xB.

The original door on my daily driver was bent from the previous idiot owner using a crowbar to pry open the door after locking his keys in it. Still can't believe someone would do that stupid shizz. I could never go through automated car washes without also receiving a free shower. It sucked. Also, tons of wind noise.

Pretty stoked. The color matched perfectly (Was actually shocked) and all of the controls work flawlessly - window controls, lock controls, mirror adjustments. No issues at all. Went through a car wash today with no issue. A very small thing, but an amazingly awesome thing. It feels like a brand new car to me now. :D

If you’re the very hands on DIY type, all necessary materials needed will only run you around $350

Installed the aluminum dead pedal I got off of ebay.
Finally warm enough here to put the rear bumper guard on.

I have an OBX shift knob that goes with those pedal covers if you're interested. It was on the car when I bought it but like the oem better so it is just chillin in a different box, a cardboard one....

I was just thinking about changing my shifter, mine is an automatic. Why are you guys taking your aftermarket shifter handles off?

What shifter are you planning to swap yours with, will it still have the OD button?

I wanted to change from the oem rubber knob to something nicer. But I'm pretty particular in what I am looking for. I want a weighted knob, would prefer a leather one, that "fits" so that the base of the knob is the same diameter as the top of the shift boot. I want no gap in height or with. I've been looking at knobs from the Vitz or JDM Corolla but they're too expensive to ship from Japan just to see if they fit.
You probably won't care for the one I have because the bottom slants in and isn’t flush with boot ring.....it is weighted but isn't leather. I'll post up pic after work tho.
I'm currently working on a backup camera so I've only been thinking about it as in, I'm interested to see what's out there but haven't done the legwork yet.

Left is some sort of oem thing iirc.....
Middle is the weighted OBX......
Right is the junkyard 07 tC oem unit on the xB currently.

Thought I would like this one but just didn't like how it met boot and oem tC felt more natural shifting...
