used my Xb as a parts runner again. lol a 875lb 440 big block mopar she was squatting good and a little squirrelly around turns over 50 but made it with no problem
For a while, you had a rear engine 7.2L xB.
Glad you made it safely and all is good. The xB is weight rated for a maximum of 825 pounds including driver and cargo.
Would love to see that bad ass 7.2L installed in the xB. Switch the Carter to a Demon 850. If so, you may need to get a pilot's license!

I just took the back roads under 50 and took my time
You could sure feel it sway around a turn over 50
I also run 195s and not 85s so that had to help
the key was securing it so it didn't move
I used a cargo bar and a few ratchet straps
the thing didn't budge
then I threw a few old tires off the rim
on both sides in case something broke loose to kill any momentum
this would be about the heaviest thing I would dare to stuff in.
a 7.2 is a cool motor but a heavy pig
there are so many other effeciant ways you could go.
I would imagine.
I would say a hell crate but My Brothers Hellcat is the only car
I drove that I couldn't hold it to the floor and drive it for more then a few seconds
maybe a blast but that's about it.
if you put a hellcrate motor in a xb
I don't think you could keep it on the road much

Being a mechanic I can say not all aftermarket are created equal. But some brands are actually oem. Beyond that some are above oem performance. Would I buy factory pads and rotors ever, nah. Ceramic hybrid pads and premium rotors are cheaper and better... belts. I like bando brand but can be hard to find right now. Just saying, sure it can be trial and error with cheaper aftermarket parts but if you've even there done that... you can safely choose what you need.
I haven't spun a socket for a living since 1987
but there isn't anything I cannot do body or mechanical wise
I restore old junk as a hobby
cars that mostly had a 8 to 10 year life at best
I do know that certain brands are oem
I have just had bad luck with aftermarket
and have no clue what is good for a japan car

honestly this is the first one I have ever owned
I tried to buy a 05 bug eye WRX stick wagon
but they are almost impossible to find
not beat to crap or a million miles.
I almost found one
it was a hour away guy gave me directions
and when I showed it was sold already.

I had a 2007 wrx wagon in world rally blue. I built it up quite well. It made 307 awhp and 349 ft # of torque at the wheels. I did all from suspension to brake to engine and had it tuned. Added a sound system and heated seat elements. HIDs... some cosmetics. I did a lot to it. It was fun. I miss that car... Sold it and got an adventure family car. A 2010 subaru forester that I lifted. This was before it was super popular to lift subarus and it turned a lot of heads 6 years ago. I did a ton to this vehile as well... We had some great adventures in it and i took on some actual limit pushing drives. Gave the forester to my wife and bought a 2017 chevy colorado I built up as a camping rig. Then we had a little one and I sold my 2000 celica commuter to buy my 2011 xb...

Now back to business. I got one door about wrapped up tonight sound system wise. I finished the sound deadening material application i started last night, then drilled out the rivets and removed the original pioneer speaker. Following that I mounted a baffle behind a speaker adapter which made a great seal then mounted up morel Maximo coax 6.5" speaker. Tomorrow I'll reinstall the moisture barrier and make sure the door card is free of the speaker contact, although quick setup and it looked good!

A few months ago, in an effort to make the OEM iPod setup work with my T1809 head unit, I installed the iPod connector & wiring from a 2008 xB (same year as my head unit) in my '06. It never worked despite days spent painstakingly reviewing everything, and I assumed that my iPod was the wrong version.

This weekend I took one of my kids to a birthday party, only about 5 minutes from the junkyard... so I thought I'd kill the time there. I knew that a new '06 xB had come in, but it didn't look like it had anything I wanted on it, so honestly I wasn't even going to check it out.

To my utter delight, this new car had the iPod connector, so I grabbed that, along with the short cable that connects to the existing wiring underneath the floor console... and that TOTALLY fixed the problem!! My iPod immediately showed the Scion logo, and started cranking out tunes.

Realistically I did not need the ipod connector… I have Alexa in the car already, so I can listen to anything I want just by asking… but Dang it, I wanted it to work! And it finally does!

I roll to work daily with a backpack on my front seat. There's enough in it to flash to seatbelt light soooooo........somebody on tacoma forum is selling inserts to disable chime/light. There is option to disable the chime in the truck but the light still flashes. Bought a pr of the black inserts to take care of this in both vehicles. Belts are same in both. top part has the mushroom toyota truck symbol.........

Before the Karens chime in........these pop right out like the buckle does for actual passenger seatbelt use.

......AND.......I don't feel like putting the backpack on the floor.

Awww hells yeah, another skater in the house! I always try and represent with a sticker or two on whatever vehicle I'm driving. Let's see if I can find one of my current running (but overheating) toaster... I made a translucent SC logo for the back window.

Been a whole since i've been on here. Crazy busy. Working 60+ hrs a week right now.

Gave the daily xb a bath today. Of course 2 hours later it had to rain. Hopefully before long i will be able start working on my show xb again.

Great sticker! Do you make them per order?
I can't legally, since I do not own the IP rights to any of the Santa Cruz logos or artwork. I just have a neat job perk where I can make stickers on occasion, and I feel that I need to acknowledge some facet of my personality onto my vehicles.

If you wanted a quick and dirty custom sticker like this made, usually manned kiosks at malls or Vegas streets or similar can make one-off designs like this that are 'forbidden.' ;)

I had the pleasure of doing a water pump today
original lasted 195k
I heard a noise from the motor and knew what it was
without even looking under the hood.
so I went to the store and picked up the pump and stuff
and on the way home the noise went away ! lol

it spit the belt and the batt light came on and I still limped it home.
the pump was pretty easy besides fighting a bolt or 2
and having to jack the engine up to slip it out.
I did reuse the metal gasket
as I didn't trust the tissue paper gasket that came with the pump
back on the road in a few hours.
next up
tire rotation
oil change
add miles to odometer
