Re: What they did to the xB today!

Had the windshield removed at the glass shop, and minor rust repaired in the top left roof corner by the body shop next door to the glass shop. This was supposed to have been performed last week when the roof was painted, but the body shop failed to coordinate with the glass shop. The rust was preventing a good seal for the windshield.

My old tiny halogen was going in and out so I cut the wires and used an LED. Much brighter.

So I purchased a four pack of door actuators, the front are fine but the back ones don't match. Got them off Ebay, trying to see what the will do, hopefully just send me the right ones.

Finally have enough room to park my Box in the garage to keep any more water coming in for the next few days since its going to rain till Thursday afternoon. I think I found the culprit of the wet carpet.

I drove my black xb to Charleston on Friday. On the way back, we hit a huge rut that ran all the way across our half of the hwy. There were no signs warning of uneven pavement.

We hit this rut at about 65mph. Keep in mind, I am lowered on 35 series tires too. We hit so damn hard that everything that was sitting on the dash flew off on to the floor and it even turned on my turn signals and wipers!

It was dark, so I wasn't able to pull off the road anywhere. When I was able to finally get Into Georgetown, sc and pull over, I didn't see any damage or hear and air leaking. We continued back to Myrtle Beach and made it home. I didn't drive it all weekend.

Yesterday, I drove it to the body shop to drop off some parts to get them painted. It vibrated really bad when rolling. On my way back home I stopped at Jeff's Wheel Repair to have out looked at. My passengers front rim had a 3-4" flat spot on the backside of it. Thankfully they were able to repair it in about 40 mins. It only cost me $130.00 and is add good as new. No more vibration. I am half tempted to call SC dept of transportation and forward them my receipt and demand reimbursement. I'm pretty sure that I heard that somewhere.

I replaced the door actuators in both rear doors last Thursday. One would lock and one wouldn't. But the were opposite of each other back and forth. Passengers would work one time and not the next. Then the next time it would not lock but the other one would...

Got my plotters going... Anyone need anything cut, let me know. I can make anything you want, including all the hard to find JDM designs. I have over 60 colors available. All at very friendly prices. Just hit me up and I can get back to you with a price.

spent 3 hours last night laying in the snow and ice (was in the low 20's) swapping out the coil overs and RH 18's all back to stock for winter mode.
need to find a good drivers side bumper splash shield. Mine is no longer there lol so I can get the aem cai put in.

wish I could have done it in the garage but all the toys are taking all the spots for winter now.

Ray, in your experience of pulling the xB apart, where do you think that water is originating from and coming out of this mystery hole?

Ray, I would love to get an old Compaq logo sticker for my compact little box. What fileformat do you need, and are they single color vinyl or does it print the color?

I can get the file. No issues there. Single color vinyl.

Actually there are several different compaq logos. Just pm me a picture of what the logo needed, size wanted, quantity, color. I will make a file I can use based off it. I can do it this morning and have it shipped today. Shipping is like $2.66 for 2-3 day. I want everyone's business.

Well I found the mystery hole behind the fender liner. Not sure how I got it, Ray said it may have been last owner installing a system wire. I plugged it with plenty of flexable silicone. Never noticed water on the carpet in 4 plus years owning my Box, maybe in time the plug that they used just fell out. At the same time went ahead and rotated my wheels.

Good job man. After looking in two of my xbs to see if there was supposed to be a hole there. There wasn't... I'm glad you found it. All you can do is clean up the water really good and check the floor for water next time it rains.

Samy hit me up if you ever make it out to the beach.

I'm going to leave the Box in the garage tonight to let it dry, thanks for you help, by the way the alternator runs strong.

See I was going to be a smart-ass Sammy and say you found the bolt that went in the hole that was letting all the water in...
