I have a few things to also look at, after doing further reading...like loose gascap,..bad fuse...loose wires on ABS wheel sensors... And as you said about reading the OBD code(s)....

Seems like the Error codes are a racket to get you to bring in the car to the dealer...
Problem is there are a number of things OBD II looks at to determine whether the operating systems are working correctly. As owners, the best we can do is be aware of the possible failures and their causes. Unfortunately, an OBD II scanner is pretty much requisite in understanding a failure. I bought one and have so far only needed it to diagnose a single problem, though I had to verify it several times.

Engines have become very much computerized and diagnostic evaluation requires both new school electronic scanning and old school engine understanding! Unfortunately, the world only gets more complex :(!

Turns out my dummys were apparently related to my recent use of LED bulbs for my tail/brake lights. At least after swapping a regular bulb for one of the LED bulb, it had lost its tail light circuit (stop light worked ok) and also pulled the Neg off the battery and then the two ECM fuses.... My dummys went away....

See what happens when I get the replacement LED tower...

So.. I am currently suffering with the ABS/VSC/ and trac lights on.. No engine light. I disconnected the negative terminal for 20 minutes and the lights still don't go away.. I've check all of the wires to my ABS sensors and they all seem to be intact. No fraying, no disconnects. The drivers front side was a little loose, so I reconnected it and the lights still stay on.
Problem being, my husband was driving my car at the time the lights came on. I don't know the exact thing that happened when they came on.. or if the story he's feeding me is utter sh!t and he just doesn't want to say because he knows I'm already really pissed off about it.
Anyway! Any other thoughts? I'm about to try the jumper reset for the codes. and I'm hoping that fixes it.

I still got the same lights too Check engine, Trac off and VSC.

OBD says code P0171 System lean bank one.

Ive replaced the MAF sensor, Ive replaced the O2 sensor up front, I did a smoke test to check for leaks in the vacuum lines. I got nothing....

Anybody got other suggestions? Car isrunning fine....

I had this code while in Cincinnati over the weekend. I was heading down a steep hill and riding my brakes, CEL came on, followed by the other two. Car ran perfectly fine, accelerated fine, everything. When I got back to the hotel, I pulled the battery for 10 minutes, let the car idle for another 10, drove around town, 250 miles back to Toledo, and it still hasn't came on again.

So really, I have nothing to add here.

I had this happen to me two winters ago...

I simply unplugged the speed sensor wires on the rear hubs, sprayed them with electrical cleaner, put a heavy dose of dielectric grease on the plug and never had an issue since.
I was having trouble with this issue, and this is how I fixed it.

I only did the rear wheels, not the front. Does the front need servicing as well?

Guess I'll try this too. I've got the same trio on myself, now constant. Once in a while they'll go off for a day or so which points to an intermittent connection probably. Keeping my fingers crossed because those lights are driving me nuts!

What code were u getting for the CEL?

I had this happen again the past few weeks.

I had been ignoring it... Finally I pulled the
Negative off the battery for about 15 minutes
but when I put it back, the trio came back
on....

They had been on until a couple days ago
I started the car out of my normal sequence
and the lights stayed out...

What I did was that after pressing in the
clutch, I released the e-brake and then
Started the car.... Normally I start the car
and then release the e-brake....

Odd coincidence...

I also have the VSC, Trac Off, and ABS light on. I just recently added the NRG quick release with a short hub. I know that I will have the ABS light on, but the VSC and Trac off came on as well. I hooked up the OBD2 scanner and it threw a U0126 code which is about the Steering wheel angler sensor. I took out the Air bag/coilspring and disconnected 1the plugs so Im wondering if I have to bypass the plug or anything. Please help
Hi! I also had the VSC, Trac Off, and ABS light on. The rear right speed sensor was defected. I just recently replaced 2 rear hub with speed sensor. The problem was solved. But now after driving with speed more 68 MPH the VSC, Trac Off, and ABS lights came on again. After fully stop (without off engine) all VSC, Trac Off, and ABS light on are self reseted. Could somebody is know what is the problem?

Hi, all. I know this is a bit late in the game, but thought I might offer this up as a possibility, since I have similar symptoms, and, with the help of an extremely tenacious mechanic, seem to have located the root cause of the VSC, Trac Off, and engine light (rather than ABS) coming on simultaneously.

There is this little thing he calls the "detection pump canister shut-off valve." It's a little canister valve near the fuel tank that detects moisture. The seal is damaged, so it's leaking.

That, he says, is what is causing the lights to come on. He also says it's safe to drive, and that the only time I will need to replace this $380.00 part (OUCH!) is when I go to renew my registration and get the car's smog certificate.

He says that if the light is on, it won't pass. (?)

So... you can see the wheels turning in my head now, I think.

I don't know if this helps, but there it is. I'll replace it, eventually, but for now I'm just driving around.

Thanks for reading, and I have really enjoyed the posts here so far.

Best,
Naiya

Hi There,
I am also having light issues with my 08 XB. The green cold light comes on and then goes off normally when the car heats up. Then after driving about 10 miles, the red light starts blinking and then gets solid and then blinks and then goes off. The car is not overheating. Also, when the light comes on the AC stops blowing cold air but then when it stops blinking or goes out, the AC returns to ice cold. Could this be a sensor issue? Any advice would be warmly welcomed as I have replaced everything that it could possibly have been.
