I would like to do a triple drain and fill on my transmission. Is Valvoline MaxLife full synthetic ATF ok to use? Has anyone here used it and regretted it? The bottle says it’s for most GM, Toyota and Hondas….since I need 3 gallons total it’s a bit cheaper than Toyota’s WS ATF.

Go with Toyota's recommendations. Only OEM fluid for that trans. Yeah it cost a bit more but it's worth it. Fluid is cheaper than a slipping transmission.

I went to a local transmission shop (a one man operation with 28 years experience) and had the transmission service done...a return line type flush, new filter and 10+ qts. of MaxLife Synthetic to do the job. He said the old fluid, while not bright pink, was amazingly clean for 106k miles. He actually said he was shocked at how clean everything looked. The pan and magnets looked like they should at 30,000 he said. Maybe there is something to be said about Toyota’s claim that under normal driving conditions the transmission fluid should never need changed. idk. He did suggest now that it’s had its first service done to do it every 30,000 - 50,000 miles. And as far as the MaxLife vs Toyota WS goes he said MaxLife is all he uses in any transmission unless it’s certain Fords and another car brand that I can’t recall. He’s never had any customers complain about a problem after the flush/fluid change. Although the xB shifted smooth before I sense a slight improvement and have peace of mind that the toaster will keep on toasting…
