Ok guys, here's what's up!

Last year I took a tour of this place called Lost Valley. Well, as part of their package deal for you to show up and look at the place, they give you a free 3 day, 2 night stay at one of their resorts in the list they have.

I'd REALLY like to come to California with my girl. However, we have select cities to choose from. Since you guys live in Cali, what place would you choose, that's best for us? Also, if it's at all possible, as soon as more details are panned out, I'd like to know what places are close to some of you guys so I can meet you.

Thanks for your input!

Anaheim, Carlsbad, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Newport Beach, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo.

Obviously, some of the places are a small drive from the beach compared to the 26 hour drive we would have ahead of us. Again though, ANY input is much appreciated!!

What kinda stuff are you into? Outdoor activities, nightlife, sunny beaches, themeparks, restaurants, musuems, etc...

If you are into sunny weather, beaches, beautiful people, resort-style vacation, I would look into San Diego or Palm Springs. Plan on renting a car if you decide on SoCal!

SF, where I'm from, is good if you like urban settings, hipster/artsy scenes, historical sightseeing, eclectic neighborhoods, shopping and walking, and a lot of beautiful views. Most beaches here in NorCal are all cool and breezy, more for relaxing and taking in the scenery rather than sunbathing and splashing around. Napa Valley is a short drive away, and Lake Tahoe is a couple hours away. My officemate is from St. Louis, and when she visited SF 2 years ago, she never went back!

Well, we love to eat! That's for sure! Ally and I are really into beautiful people and definitely sunny weather. lol. We'd like to be outdoors as much as possible, not necessarily in a downtown setting, mostly beach. We are coming from the middle of the continent, so the beach is a must for us. At least being able to get the scent of the ocean.

Thanks Stankubrick! This is EXACTLY the kinda stuff I'm looking for!

I heard there is a long freeway that just kinda flows from north-to-south out there. Would it be possible to take that to get to different areas?

We're open to ALL suggestions, if San Francisco is the place we travel to, we definitely have to meet up! Shoot, anywhere that's not a far drive from SF either! I'm excited, can't cha tell? We're gonna find out Monday which resorts still have rooms available!

I'm excited for you! I wanna go on a vaction too :)

Yeah I-5 goes up and down California. It's like a 7 hour drive between SF and LA...with nothing in between! You probably wouldn't want to waste too much time traveling, so SoCal seems like your best bet with Newport Beach being closest to a lot of popular tourist destinations (Disneyland, LA, beach towns, etc.). Plus there's hella Scion clubs in SoCal, that's for sure 8)

Well, if at all possible, I'd love to organize a small meet and greet with all you guys out that way. I wanna see in person how it's done on the West Coast! If you guys know people with xA's as well, that would be a huge help too. I don't wanna 'steal' ideas, but if it would help the tuner movement out this way, I'd like to take home some unique visions of people.

We're still pretty unsure as to what we're gonna do out there besides hang out at a beach and maybe do some light shopping. Maybe a 7 hour drive can turn into a 3 hour drive in the middle. I dunno, this is still all in the developmental phases.

I don't care where we go really, as long as there's a beach close by and beautiful weather. LMAO.

BTW, if anyone wouldn't mind looking through their workplaces and see if they might be hiring around that time.......I'd uh....you know, be very grateful. I know once I get out there, I won't want to leave....Know what I mean??????

i would totally be down for that. even if we gotta drive to Flagstaff to meet up.

as far as 'Anaheim, Carlsbad, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Newport Beach, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo.'

Anaheim is where Disneyland is located. its about 30 min or so inland from the beach and usually heavily congested with traffic due to the tourism to Disneyland.

Carlsbad is a little farther south, its pretty much sitting on the beach tho. it tends to cater to a higher class of people and might create more of an expensive leasure activity.

lake taho. a little ways inland. people tent to travel to lake taho as opposed to the beach but for the same water setting. if your into the beach and just hanging in the city outside you might want to rule this one out. its more of a weekend spot or longer for boating/fishing/camping/hiking

napa valley. home to some of the finest wines in the country. very beautiful place with rolling lush green hills and acres and ares of grapes. not very beach like but yet a beautiful place to go.

newport beach, im not all too familiar with this one maybe someone can touch up on it a little more.

palm springs, man this place has come along way in the last 10 years, it used to be a palm spring in a dust cloud. now its filles with casinos and night life. it gets HOT there so be cautious of travel times. its also about 100 miles or so inland, so again its not quite the beach setting your requesting.

san diego, good ole san diego. this is my home town so of course i will favor this place. beautiful beaches and boardwalks, historic old town, down town fanta fe train station and sea port village. about 25-35 min south of carlsbad. you can see the coves at La Jolla [la hoya] and go snorkeling in the shallow cove. watch the surfers off the peer. dont forget to see Ocean beach shopping strip, and spend a night down in Pacific Beach. head up the coast on the 5 past carlsbad and san lous obispo which is a college town no to vacationy and you can get onto the 1 highway which pretty much rolls right along the sand. take that 2 hour north of san diego and your in LA past San Pedro which has some cool sights and you can cruiz the boardwalk at muscle beach which is pretty famous and check out the skate park built right into the boardwalk, then head east a few blocks and take your walk on the 'walk of fame' with all the stars on the hollywood blvd and meet up with everyone in LA area for lunch or something.

ok im so jealous just talking about it. i hope you have a fantastic time... and you know damn well were gonna want some pics.

Boom, if you havent decided yet i would suggest anaheim only bcoz its in socal and its close to the beaches, nightlife, shopping, amusement parks, daytime activities... its pretty much in the center of everything you might think of doing... and lets not forget the best thing which is the scion community... the scion community is so active that you can prolly attend meets or shows through out your stay... thats summer, im sure there will be a lot of events happening...

hope that helps...

We'll only be there for 3 days and 2 nights. And I know for a fact that my box has nowhere near the mods and stuff as the people out that way. I wouldn't show my box for the fear of everyone pointing and laughing (it's why I haven't done HIN yet - not enough lights). Anyways, we're driving, and YES we are going to be making frequent stops along the way to take in the ROAD TRIP a bit. A few pics here, a few there, if anyone is along the way, and would care to meet up, as soon as we get things finalized I'll let you all know what's going to happen.

I don't mind attending the shows, looking at the rides, checking out the scene. It's a shame I wouldn't be able to take a sponsor or two home, as people like to keep things local.

I'll keep you all updated as what's going to happen. Keep the ideas rollin' guys, it's making me want to come out there more and more!!!

It would be cool to meet you BoomBox

Lets see, no one has spoken yet about San Luis Obispo. Small cozy little town on the coast full of interesting little shops and B&Bs. This would be a good one for a quieter romantic get away. I’m not sure, but I didn’t notice many Scions in the area last year -- it’s a pretty expensive area.

Yeah, Anaheim is probably the best choice if you want to be in So Cal/ LA area. Again it’s rather centrally located. No offense to those living there, but to my knowledge you pretty much have a choice of Disneyland and Disneyland CA Adventure for entertainment. Expect to drive a bit. (I’m no expert on the area though; I’ve only been there for Disneyland myself :p )

I vote for Anaheim too. I would say my hood in the 909, but we aint got much to offer here besides the ooooooweeee if you know what I mean. lol. Anaheim's got the Disneyland, Knotts (well really close by), San Diego is like 2 hrs away and the beach is like 1/2 hr away. World famous Huntington Beach or Newport Beach. Plus LA and other areas like Hollywood is only an Hr drive.
