Under Dash LED

Ok, so I admit to being new here and searching for info already on here But i can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I picked up some Blue LED 4 light strips on my tour in europe and now i wanna fit them into my car so as they come on hopefully like the interior lights or just stay on when the car is on. my question is. where do i wire them into. I have read people talk of wiring them into the cig lighter . I have a fairly good electrical wiring skill. i repair guitars and amps and band gear so i trust to be careful and meter things but i just need a head start with the info. i don't care if there on all the time but just would be good to get more light as the installed dome light barely lights the interior.
I'll gladly be pointed to any previous thread thats going.

i wired mine to the prewired fog setup. I installed the relay and put a switch in the center console under where the "oven" is. Works really well and it gives you a chance to install some fog lights while your at it too. Fairly cheep mod too.
You have pictures to post ?

I took the bull by the horns and took my headlining back and wired the LEds to the interior roof circuit so they come on and go off as needed with door opening and closing.. I got the effect I was after. Thanks for all the help from other members. this sites been a real great library of info when Ive been searching, Its empowered me to do quite a bit of DIY instead of palming it off to a shop.

Where did you choose to put them?
Did you put them all under the dash or did you put them in other spots through out the car?
Do you happen to have any pictures of them on so we can see how well they light the vehicle up?

Congrats on getting it done

Relay Help!?!

I recently added a relay off of the dome light to control footwell and puddle lights/underglow. I used a normal relay and everything works great but the thing is when the dome relay fades out it is really annoying. (Really fast relay clicking). I did some research and came across solid state relays. My question is, the relay i have now is a single throw and the solid sate relay is double. I have included diagrams. I just need to know if I need to change any wiring to make it work. The harness I have now fits a double throw I just need to know if I need to switch from 87 to 87a basically.

In the pictures provided, the SPST relay is N.O. and the SPDT relay is N.O. for positions 30-87 in each circuit terminal designations. The 87A on the SPDT is for a N.C. arrangement. Unless you are looking for at at-rest pass through, you do not need to change any wiring configuration, and can simply leave 87A open, or insulate it to prevent a stray circuit signal contacting it.

I tied mine into the remote power wire on the back of my head unit. Probably easier to access than the dome light. Got a whole roll of blue LED light stripping for my interior and exterior at Best Buy. Cut to length and soldered the connections. Looks mint IMO. :nerd:
