I need a tire that is smooth riding and quiet. Currently have Michelin Defenders and have hated them from the beginning. They handle the road well but everything else about them is terrible.

Check out "Tire agent" they have a few xB options. I have Continental tires- when I up the hp I'm going with Toyo tires. My .2 cents.

I put a set of Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring on my 2008 xB several years ago and am very happy with them.

I've used General Altimax tires on my xB (2, maybe 3 sets over 200K+ miles) and a few other cars. Good value and performance.
