0 down, no trade and $400 a month. (that's with 5,000 in options although I don't recommend you do that-learn from the people here and then buy your own aftermarket stuff, save a ton!)

Both of our xB's were $0 down (you have to insist that's what you want) and are both around $350 a month. Mine is more, $375, because I purchased the extended warranty. Both would have been somewhere around $320 a month without all of our options.

How come no one is saying "It depends on YOUR credit" ???

It depends on your credit situation as to whether or not you get 0 down or low down and what % financing you get!

:D
Good point. I was too literal with the question. Are you a 1st time buyer HondoxB? That will have some bearing on your situation.

Most people (except cash buyers) are payment people. It's not how much it costs, it's "how much down, how much a month." They're not buying a car, they're buying a payment. BTW, have you look at the xB? IMO, it's got one of the best features to price ratio ever!

down and rate are not tied in together for us.

the configurator at scion dot com has a "customize payment terms", this will allow you to enter a monthly payment and a APR based on your est. of credit score.

or,

here is the rule of thumb and it is pretty close.

Take the price of the car you are thinking of.
ex.
Automatic Scion xB with a set of floormats
MSRP $15,490
ADD 10% for tax licence and fees (i usually round down) $1,500
TOTAL $16,990

now, figure on $20 for every thousand borrowed.
so, 17X20=340 per month
if you planned on putting money down take that into account.

with 2K down you would be financing about 15K
so, 15X20=300 per month.

this rule of thumb will get you a general idea of what you payments should be.

now, your credit score should determine what APR you get.

Zone 2 FICO 689-650 60 Months 7.75%
Zone 2 FICO 689-650 66 Months 8.15%

Zone 4 FICO <620 66 Months 16.45%
Zone 4 FICO <620 72 Months 17.45%

these are toyota's current rates. sometimes people will go through their credit union to get a slightly better rate. but, right now it is not usually by much.

My RS3 was about $19500 out the door (stock with auto) and i put down $8k just so that i can get extra .55% discount off of my interest rate. My credit union gives more discount on the rate based on the downpay percentage and direct deposit. Something you should look into. .55% doesn't sound a lot but could add up to be hundreds of dollars. My payment is around $330 a month on 5.14% APR for 36 months.

I recommend a place in long island.. They have great customer service. They are also hosting a Scion Show March 25th if you are interested in attending.
