Does anyone know the amperage rating of the stock Altenator?
If you have an newer xB it should be a 90 amp alternator.

If you have an early one, prolly like me, it was supposed to be a 70 amp.

Thanks for the relpy. I have a 2006.5 so I beleive I have a 90 amp. I'm not planning on exploiting the alt's capabilities or anything I just like to learn everything I can about my vehicle. So far, this site has been the best source of tid bits just like this.

Troy,

You should have the 90 amp alternator.

I blew my amp and alternator letting my xB idle at shows while running my ICE.

90 amps. That's good to know. I bet it was a pain to remove your gear and replace the Alt. Speaking of I.C.E..... are you British? I lived in England for 2 years and used to hear that term referring to In Car Electronics.

Wow. That's pretty pricey. I've heard of some shops out there that can Beef you stock Alt up for a reasonable amount of money. CCheck your local area and see what's available.
