Went to the dealer. Talked to my sons friend the finance guy. He called the Scion specialist. They knew nothing about the TP special edition. I sent them here. After reading about it on this website the Scion specialist went and checked with the sales manager. They have one coming to the dock in Portland on 10-28-06. It will be at the dealer about a week later. It is reserved for me. Now I need to know more about the car. Anyone have any details?

The final Scion limited edition vehicle of the year lands in dealerships next month. The Scion xB Release Series 4.0 gets doused in Maziora Torched Penny paint, a color-shifting finish that changes depending on your viewing angle and/or how light plays off the car's surface (similar to the Mystichrome finish made available on the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra) . In this case, the colors morph into shades of brown, bronze, and gold.

The color has been used in Japan already on various show cars and on a JDM special-edition bB, and while the tricky hue clearly won't be for everyone, it is definitely interesting. We're sure that Scion will have no trouble finding 2500 takers for the multi-colored miniwagon. In addition to the deluxe paint, the Release Series 4.0 receives some visual aids in the form of a rear spoiler, Modellista grille, and rear bumper protector. Everything's color-keyed, of course. Inside, the floormats tell the occupants that yes, this is a Release Series Scion. It also gets multicolor dash lighting, a new shift knob (on cars with manual transmissions), and a numbered plaque.

The cost of this brown chameleon is the xB base price, $14,030, plus an additional $1,930 (automatic) or $1,980 (manual).
The first one shows the grill etc. The 2nd is the color on a bb

I really love the Torched Penny. For one, because it's different! And I like browns, coppers, those kinds of colors. You have to like it for you, because you'll be the one that has to look at it every day. If you think you'd like the Salsa better, you should do the Salsa.

It's too bad you couldn't see the torched penny in person first.

the bambies.....hmmmm.... how 'bout a "Roo-Bar" in front... and don't fergit the deer whistles, and the jillion watt road lites...and million watt[102 inch] organ speakers mounted on the roof....and....and....LOL

I think that you will really like the color after you see it in person...It is rather sutle when compaired to the solar yellow or the envy green

if you reserve a car unless you sign a contract saying you are the buyer and blahbidy you don't have to take delivery of it. and hell if you put down a deposit most dealers that don't have to go out of their way or pay to get the car will give your deposit back.

Multi color dash lighting
I wouldn't be hard to do at all. All that has to be done is remove the end of the light tubes thats contain the LEDs, the end cap has 4 LED's and a surface mount resistor Replace the LEDs with the multi color LED's, I have some on my PC's that change from, red, purple, blue, amber, then start over, these LED's only have 2 legs, the anode and the cathode

You can see in this one a cracked resistor, this one light tube would flash off and on, well the cracked resistor was it.
