is it possible to switch out an H4 normal lo beam only d2r HID bulb, with a bi-xenon lo and hi HID bulb without changing of the igniter and ballasts?

The ballasts in a BMW are not bi-xenon, there is a flap that covers half of the beam, and when you flash the brights it lifts the flap and the full beam is revealed.

with the H4 normal xenon bulbs, there is a halogen filament for high beam, and then xenon for lower (since H4 is dual filament bulb).

With H4 bi-xenons, the high beam filament is replaced by another xenon one.

Negatives about bi-xenon dual filament bulbs? They won't last as long as low beam only xenon's.

There is only a negative and a positive wire on the BMW xenon, the highs are ran seperately with a flap on actuator which opens and closes. The ballasts are not set-up for high and low.
