what happened to teh one on the left "drivers" side ?

Metal is really thin. Next time your with your box look at the edge of your hatch, that is the outer skin folded around the inner frame and it's only about a 1/8" inch thick....Three layers = 1/8" inch.

here is the left side when finished, the right side was actually worse.

oh i know how thin it is . tis why 90% of professionally shaved hatches have MULTIPLE ripples in em and imo look like crap.

i was just wondering why you cut the hole as large as you did on the drivers side only.

Both sides were cut the same, just didn't post all the steps. Had to be cut that big to make them sit flush.

how did you go about clearing the stocks?
Took the lens off, and pulled the red reflectors out.

that is nice and clean. I do autobody when not in school and I know that it can be a pain. (me and owner of shop did this on a wrx) Ithink that lights add that extra something that a shaved hastch is missing.

did you have to bake the tails to get the cover off?

No, but it probly would of been easier. Just not as hott, because there is a foam gasket. They are the same as the headlights though, there are a few tabs you have to pry back. You will need to get a couple of those red rubber bulb covers, or your bulbs will be all white. The red led bulbs will not work they are too big to fit into the socket, I ordered them first just to find out that they wouldn't work. I ended up putting the lights back to stock.
