Found this info diggin around on the web looking for replacement oem hu for the toaster and added some pics. I scored a T1804 to replace the T1801 with CD issues but also going for a T1806 to have knobs instead of buttons for vol/tuning, display color options and aux input options. T1805 is 6 disc with color option but kinda iffy CD function if handled rough according to info available. Single disc OK. Didn't find similar thread here....I did several searches. Enjoy...........

The T1801
  • older '04 single disk
  • no knob, just buttons in the middle
  • Plays MP3s and WMA
  • SAT ready
  • NO Ipod connectivity
  • xA & xB only on SSP - tC not until 2005

Thanks for accumulating this data and for posting it. Great chronology of HU evolution! As a footnote; the T1801 did not have a Vehicle Type equalizer setting for the tC within SSP as the tC did not appear until model year 2005. If a tC owner replaced a T1804 or newer with a T1801 they could only choose between xA or xB for the Vehicle Type.

Yeah, I was playing around with the SSP and it only did xA and xB on the 1801. I actually preferred the xA setting and left it that way. Have purchased both an 1804 and an 1806 but have not received them yet. I think the blue display on the 1806 will go good with the white leds coming for climate controls and speedo being white. I think the radio lighting on buttons on 1806 will still be yellow as it seems that just the display itself changes colors. An 1805 with color and 6 disc woulda been nice but I decided to just stay with single disc since aux connections will be going in CD1 plug on the back to have usb/3.5mm/ipod connections from grom audio unit I have on hand. That'll give me flashdrive up to 32gb which will be plenty of music. I guess my fon could play thru 3.5mm jack and I have a few mp3 players laying around that could be used as well...........options options options.

Installed the T1806 and turns out it has 11 different colors.......

acid.........yellow like clock and dash used to be (dash has white leds)
tangerine
crimson
passion
amethyst
mixer
ice blue
lithium
cobalt
emerald ray
blade

Diggin the dual knob layout compared to the buttons on the T1801 and the T1804 that I also scored. Found it before finding out about the T1806. Guess it'll be bkup to T1806. Still prefer the xA setting vs xB or tC. CD and MP3 functions great and the pioneer ts-g's in dash, doors sound great.....waitin on adapters and ts-g 5.25s to show up to go in back. That will finish what I want to do on audio for now......other than finding my spare grom audio aux/usb/ipod adapter to run off cd1 port on the 1806.

Those are very decent Pioneer head units in the xB. The mixer feature cycles through all ten colors starting with Passion and displays each color for five seconds.

Pic of the new to me T1806 installed. Definite improvement vs the T1801, especially for $40. Paid $30 shipped for the T1804 that will be my backup. Thinkin I'm good on HUs for a bit, lol......

the 1801 is basically toast....radio only, no cd or mp3 action. cd will not eject and plays like crap all skippin and such. So 1806 is main with 1804 as working spare. Gonna dissect the 1801 and see what's what inside there......
