Hi! I’m Johnathan and I have owned a 1990 pontiac sunbird LE that had a manual. Then I owned a 1975 Pontiac Le Mans that had a 350 Pontiac small block with automatic tranny. Then I owned a 1988 Ford thunderbird Turbocoupe. Then my last vehicle owned and just gotten rid of recently, was a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT that had the automatic that you could shift into manual and it was almost like a manual. That was the one I learned how to modify and do other customization to it.

Now, I currently own a 2006 Scion xB and it has 89,170 on it, it’s white, has a ground fx kit that I am not sure if it’s stock for this vehicle? It’s white and it has a manual transmission. I sure am glad to have a manual back again!

For this vehicle I plan on adding more horsepower and make it handle the road or feel the road more with some bracing bars. I have lighting upgrades amd have a header from DME on the way. I figured if I can get a high flow cat for the same price as a stock catalytic Converter, I’d get it then. I want to improve the engine and make it have as much horsepower as it should have been more powerful. Like 250 horsepower minimum.

This will be my daily and I’ll really be doing a project vehicle and not making my daily a project vehicle. Thanks for reading about myself!

Welcome to the Family. Urethane bushings for the front sway bar and add a rear sway bar are recommended to improve road handling. But getting 250 hp from our little engines will take some work.

Welcome to da club !!! Must be hard letting all the Pontiacs go but then they engines were only good for boat anchors !!!!! I worked for Oldsmobile for several years and as for getting 250 HP from our little 4 banger will be tough to do !!! Hope you have lots of money and do let the mods begin !!!

Will do! I usually do just that. Right now I’m looking up what all it takes to prepare a vehicle for accel coil packs. I just figured throw them on and go. But since they have a hotter spark, I’ll look into hot spark plugs to handle the higher volts. Then I could be ready to throw them on.

That sounds like quite the project! Are you planning on adapting some sort of limited slip differential, or a transmission with a lower final drive ratio? I can do one-wheel burnouts on my stock powered box, I could only imagine trying to get 200 hp to lock up!

I've seen videos of the european Yaris with a blower that was pulling 130 hp to the wheels, and I think that would be the ideal setup, especially if we could find a way to slap in a lower final drive and possibly 5th gear as well. Good luck!

So here is an update!! I got my new accel coil packs in Tuesday. I already have the DME header installed, exhaust bypass valve kit installed before the header to allow me to drive open header with an electric motor to open/close it, projector headlights installed and a windshield banner also. I’m going to post up my current progress by the end of the week(looking to be this Sunday).

Sure will! I will make up a post on my xB and it’s progress so far at this point on Sunday. I have to learn how to post photos in the thread and video too. I’m thinking it’s easy and you have to put links to the photos and videos for me to have those in the thread.

That red is a nice contrast to the white. The white is such a blank canvas for any mods. Enjoy the ride.

One guy at work called my Pandora, “sugar cube”. I like that nickname and I think a wrap or even a paint job that looks sugar, would be neat. I will wash her up and make it look better for the first complete photo shoot. I’ll snap photos of the header and engine area. Also, one surprise to come that I spent 500 bucks on.
