Hi,
Any luck with the rear lifting ?

I just want maybe 2 inch rear lift, or moreso, some better weight carrying support at lower cost / ease of installation

Just reiterating what Toyota freak said. If you are just looking for extra load capacity then google Airlift 1000 helper bags. These are small air bags that go inside of your stock spring and you pump with up to gain extra capacity. I ran them for year on my Honda Odyssey when I used it for my old vending business and they worked excellently. I added a pair of schrader valves under the gas filler door and used a small electric air pump to fill them up when needed.

What would the possibility of getting the RAV4 spindles for the front do to fit the geometry of the suspension? I would assume the 2 bolts that connect to the strut should compensate for what the stock xB spindles loose.

The spindles aren't where you would gain height. The difference is in the struts.

I know. I ordered the spindles from rock Auto but if they don't work I'll send them back for store credit lol.

Also they make aluminum spacer bushing if all else fails I'd have to do one at a time and get new bolts from Ace hardware. And drop the sub frame with the spacers.

I just put bigger tires on my wheels and it lifted the end links back about an inch or so. They are no longer sitting on the control arms like before when I initially put on the RAV4 struts. That may have fixed the issue. I got to drive it a little to see how the car responds. But I put 245 ZR18 originally had low profile 225 on the wheels.

The most cost effective way to raise the xB would be to contact Randode West on FB and order his xB lift kit. If I remember correctly it is a 2" lift front and rear. Spring spacer in the rear and strut top hat spacer in the front.
someone mentioned that with randode kit on the xb, would also need sub frame drop kit . does anyone know about that? i would love to see some pics of the places the parts are put in. this would be for a 2012

Hi,
I have the Randode kit waiting to be installed, but he didn't mention a sub frame drop. One question I do have is do you need shock extensions in the rear for a 2 inch lift?

Thanks

You don't need a sub frame drop but it does help re-align the driveshafts back to a better angle. Basically the 2" lift is about the limit the stock driveshaft angles. If you want to add a sub frame drop I believe Jason Night is still making them. Here's the Ebay link for them, 1" Front Subframe Drop Kit Scion xB 2004 2005 2006 1/6 Lifted Camber Alignment | eBay

OK, thanks for the info, I will check that out. Any thoughts on the rear shock extensions?

Chris
Sorry to reply to my own post, I should have mentioned this is for a 2nd gen, 2015 xB. That subframe kit is for the 1st gen. I can see how it works though, it's basically lowering the engine cradle.

Thanks,
Chris

I didn't even think to ask what gen yours was. Yeah, Jason only designed the kit on the 1st gen. Shouldn't be much different for the 2nd gen. I can ask him next time I'm at the shop. Eventually we'll get my raised subframe done and can see if there are any major differences between the mounts needed between the two gens. Might be a while though as the raised subframe is a back burner project for when there is time.
