I'm just now wanting to do some basic mods to my 06.5 automatic and wanting to get your feed back? I love this site and like to read the oppinions of others experiences. Does the Short Ram Intake make a big difference vs. a K&N Air Filter?
A good quality short ram is going to make a bit more difference than just a drop-in K&N simply because it pulls cold air directly from the fender well. There are many different brands of short ram out there, but from my experience, it has always been nicer to have the oil breather AFTER the MAF sensor rather than before it. This prevents the possibility of MAF contamination from oil particles that go astray. The only manufacturer that I have seen who makes their short ram this way is Fujita. The short ram is the Fujita SR-3100.
If you are not too concerned with MAF contamination, which is relatively uncommon, you could always opt for the Injen or a cheaper duplicate such as YDR.
