Hey everyone! I'm glad to find lovers of this awesome car like me. I've always wanted a Scion xB because I absolutely LOVE the shape of it, no matter what people would tell me about how "A square isn't very aerodynamic and gas efficient." It's a fricken box on wheels and it's adorable.

On Saturday, I had finally retired my very first car - a 2001 Kia Sephia that was dying a slow, deteriating, rusty death - and bought my dream car at a used dealership, a 2010 white xB. Ideally, I'd have gotten a 1st gen, but I couldn't find any for sale in my area that had an automatic transition. But I don't care what some xB enthusiasts say about the 2nd gen car; I'd rather have a 2nd gen that will last me longer than the appearence of a 1st gen that I'd have to replace the engine in 15 years down the line to keep it going.
I've got 3 vacations down the line that I have to save up for but I'm hoping next year to have enough to get a paint job, since I've always wanted my dream xB to be the "alien green" color that the Kia Souls come in.

As this is my first xB and I'm entirely new to this car (or any car made in the last 10 years, honestly), I hope by coming to this forum I can meet a lot of cool scion lovers and learn a lot about my new car baby :D

Haha....YESSS!!! Let the mods begin.
When I first got my Box, I originally bought it because it was wrecked and I got a really good deal on it. I only planned on having it for a few weeks, repairing it and then reselling it for a nice profit. Well, I've had the Box for a year now. I've repaired the damage. Installed a roof rack, installed an aftermarket security system, 2,000+ watt sound system. Got aluminum rims for it. New tires. Tinted the windows. Added LED fog lights. Installed rear spoiler.

These Box cars are addicting. I'm currently working on collecting air suspension parts to convert to airbags and also getting parts together to make the hood open up reverse style.

I could ONLY find automatic transmissions when I was looking. Found close to where I was looking in Missouri. A 2006 and a 2008. I got the 06 in black. The 08 was some kind of ****ed up blue, and the rear brake hub was squealing. As it turns out, I should have gotten it, as I ended up having to replace the front frame bracket and 1 motor mount, at nearly 2 grand. MO throws down a briny salt slush at any hint of snow, and my ride started life as a commercial vehicle, I often create lavish fantasies about the secret government work it must have been involved with. Either that or it was a donut delivery box. Either way, I'm happy with the mpg increase over my Jeep Wrangler.

I really wish I could have found a standard, but life continues.
