Hey just wanted to see if anyone had attempted to use the Perrin Intake that mounts just behind the upper grille and then opened up some small holes in the grille to allow cold air to flow over it. It would make kind of a short ram air / cold air intake.

Is this even a decent intake? I have not seen many people running this set up.

All pics complements of our adds at the bottom of the page JSC Speed;)

I hate that design and the filter looks cheap.

I'll just stick with my injen short ram,, which is more like a cold air.

Had it too. Not that great of a design on the filter location. Heat soak is not an issue if you have an open grill, but then the foam filter just gets nasty real quick. When I had mine, I replaced the filter with a K&N. But I run the Fujita SRI now

I just installed this intake yesterday with an open grill and Im having some serious issues...

... I might be fabricating a wind deflector to cover the front of the cone filter. Im pretty sure at driving speed the intake is sucking in too much air for the engine to deal with and the ECU is allowing the engine to shut off completely while coasting with the clutch pedal in.
