Hi -

I have 2013 Gen 2 XB. LOVE it. I particularly love the horsepower of the 2.4L 158 engine.

But, I am moving and need some money. Since I can get around $8500 for it, I'm wanting to buy another XB at around $4k and pocket some cash. I will need a rack as I'm moving in my car.

I haven't had a first gen model, but have driven one. My questions are:

1) with the 1.5L engine, will the HP decline enough to feel like my old Honda Civic did? I'm on the west coast and we do have mountain passes - which the 2.4 eats like a kid eating candy on halloween.

2) I hear these will go forever, would anyone recommend buying say a 2004-6 with 175,000 miles, or lower if i can find one... if I plan to move 3 states away with all of my stuff in it?

3) Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 1st and a 2nd gen, and love each for different reasons. 1st gen is great around town and thrifty on the highway. It struggles a little in the mountains of Tennessee. 2nd gen is smoother on the highway and mountains but mileage is less. In the end, the choice is up to you.
