i have a 2005 Xb RS2.0 with the factory fog lights, but my issue is they dont work. the bulbs are good the fuse is good (to the best of my knowledge p/t shade tree mechanic) but i resally want them to work ive only had the car 6 months and when my dad owned the car it seems like the fog lights didnt work then either. ANY HELP ON THE TOPIC would be helpful.
Thank you

OK SO IM LOST as (blank) i cant find the relay to save my life or at least i cant get to it to be able to find itI Want my fogs to work so dam bad, there pluged in and i have power to the switch (meter tested) , not sure where to go from there.....
This is the best video that I have ever found for figuring out how to find where the relay goes. Keep in mind man that you still can't see it. Lmao

This guy basically walks you right up to where it is shows you the orientation of the part and then points out to you where it goes. That's as good as it gets without a borescope camera.
It's a blind slap in between 2 other relays
On the side of the block
What helped me after being a little frustrated
I tossed the relay on the seat
Then
I reached up there and just felt around
A little bit
Figured where the other relays were
I pulled one relay out and stuck it right back
2 times
felt around it more and felt the space between the 2 relays

I did this and then I picked the relay up and
tried again
And it went in so easy I was embarrassed it took me so long.
So my advice is take a couple of minutes and feel around like Helen Keller
You will find the hole eventually

BTW i still cant find the hole:rolleyes:.... the relay plugs into:unsure::)
Seriously? At some point you just lube it up and start poking around. That's the advice I was given when I was 13 or so.

I dont have them printed any longer, but somewhere on this site is a folder of manuals for our car. One of the subfolders contains the factory installation guide for OEM options. The fog lights are a factory option. In that diagram is the clearest picture of where the relay goes.

Let me see if I can post what was posted... This should work, but the pictures are in reverse order.

Here is the link to the OEM fog light install

Stick your cell phone camera in there and take some photos. That along with the video and along with the above diagrams will get you there.
Any advice on the retainer clips? After taking my fog lamps out to polish and the replace the bulbs now the clip on the driver's side won't snap back into place and the light keeps popping out

I believe you can still order the clips from Toyota. Another suggestion I have though, is to use some closed cell foam tape to snug them in. I did this because I was unhappy with the gap that my lights had. I bought some foam that i believe is 1/4 inch thick and i ran it around the outer edge of the lens. Snugs them in and makes for a cleaner look IMHO.

Good morning and thanks for the response. That actually sounds like a great idea! Did you wrap it around the actual lense just out of site or the housing itself? What brand foam did you actually use and where did you get it? Can you share a picture?
Toyota actually does sell the clips still! I just ordered 4 of them for a total of $25! Now i’m going to look into the foam idea whitebread recommended. Thanks!

I did both actually, around the light and the housing. I recommend starting the tape from the top so that it's harder to see the seam. It was some random brand off of Amazon. I just made sure it was closed cell, so as to be better in the elements.
