Hey Guys,
So I just finished installing my Spyder Halo projector headlights...
I have two different problems.
For the fog lights, I just popped them in and they fit snug, but when I was trying to install the relay, I snapped off the white plastic part on the back of the fuse box. All the wires are still connected, and I plugged in the relay to the back and hit the switch that I also connected, and nothing happened. Possibly I got the wrong relay. The one I got is a 40amp 4pin standard relay.

Problem number 2: When I was installing the headlights, everything went smoothly until it was time to wire the Halo rings. I wanted to wire them to my parking lights so I got a volt meter to see which wire was the turn signal and which wire was the parking lights. After determining that the middle whiteish wire was the turn signal, I turned on my parking lights to see which wire was the constant volt for the halo rings. My parking lights stopped working and do not work now. The turn signals work fine, but the parking lights do nothing. The projector lights and the high beams work fine. Now I have the 2 red and 2 black wires for the halo rings just sitting loose in my engine bay connected to nothing. Is there an alternative that I can do or how can I fix my parking lights?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: the fog lights. They're supposed to come on when the headlights (low beam) are on and the fog light switch is toggled. Did you turn on your low beams before flipping the fog light switch?

Can you post a photo of the white plastic part you broke?

Re: the parking lights, the white wire is ground. The green is hazard/turn. The green/orange is the parking light hot wire. You probably hooked the ground wire directly to a hot wire & blew a fuse.

UPDATE: also the lights in my car for the gauges and AC as well as the tail lights aren't working now, so it's probably a fuse.

For the dogs, I think I have the wrong relay because I tried turning them on with the regular headlights and parking lights but none worked.

Thanks

There are 4 prong relays wired normally open, and 4 prong relays wired normally closed. Like you said, you may have the wrong one.

Here is the picture of the white plastic thing I pulled off. I think this is just a guard to hold the fuse blocks and such in place. It's the second one from the bottom that holds the fog lamp relay on the back left, and nothing on the right.

Here is the relay that I tried to use. Probably the wrong one since it didn't fit.

Depends on the way you wired them... There's independent fogs and then the normal fogs that use the switch but your lows have to be on as well.

Just went to the dealership and they wanted 75$ for the fog lamp relay... Part number 90987-02027 OR 90080-87026

Last and final problem. The halo rings hooked up nicely (Thanks bestmpgxB +1 rep).

For my fog lights, I bought the correct relay from Napa auto parts for about 25$ and then pushed it in behind the fuse box where all the DIY's say to put it. Now when my lows are on and I flip the fog switch, I can hear the relay click but my fogs don't come on. I tried 3 different types of bulbs including 7500k, 4000k, and regular incandescent bulbs and none of them worked. I also checked the fog fuse in the fuse panel under the steering column and that was fine too.
Any suggestions?

I've seen these threads before. In the link posted by PCH, there's a guy who was talking about his fogs not working even with the relay and switch (problem never resolved) and I'm in the same boat. The relay clicks on with the switch when the low beams are on, but the fogs don't come on. I checked most of the fuses and they're all clean.

Should I try independent fogs?

Well, the purpose of the fog relay is to connect the foglamp circuit when the switch enables the trigger circuit. The clicking means the coil in the relay is moving. It doesn't necessarily mean the two relay circuit terminals make a closed circuit.

First thing is to remove the relay, put 9 or 12V to the trigger terminals, and check the continuity of the other 2 terminals. They should close with the trigger voltage, and open without the voltage.

If the relay checks out OK, check that plastic part that came out. If it has any electrical connections, it's the culprit. Even if it doesn't, it may hold plugs or parts together, assuring a connection.

Finally, you may have to trace the foglamp wiring. Are you getting 12V to the female sockets? Are the sockets corroded? It seems unlikely the lamp sockets themselves are bad, but you should put 12V to them directly, to be sure.

So last night I did some troubleshooting and I messed with the rocker switch a bunch and my buddy told me that when I flip the switch, they would flicker and go out. I ended up taking off the center console and removing the rocker switch and manually connected the terminals to see if the fogs would work... Whattya know. Faulty rocker switch.

Since I don't have a replacement rocker switch on hand, I just put it back on and now my fogs work when the switch is balanced in the middle. LOL.

100% thanks to BestmpgxB and PCH :) Love you guys.

You're welcome, Wolfman. Glad to hear you've identified the problem. The Gardner-Bender switch is a standard appliance switch, or you can buy one under $10 at oznium.com.

@wolfman - how do you like the Spyder headlights? I just bought a set from CarID (Spyder® PRO-YD-TSXB03-HL-C (5011909) - Chrome Halo Projector Headlights), shipped them to Ogdensburg NY, then drove up to pick them up from Ottawa, Canada. One thing I was disappointed about was how dim the Halo's were. I have been thinking about replacing the halo's with something that has the LED/SMD's all the way around the rings, but not sure what size the rings are, and if it's actually worth it to replace the rings.
