Thanks for the info.Hi!
All stock xB's have inline four-cylinder engines; they have only one bank and one catalytic converter. The converter is located nearest to the engine. The device at the back is a muffler.
A P0420 is about the cat's efficiency level. A cat is pricey, be sure the exhaust system is thoroughly diagnosed before replacing anything. The code may also be caused by a faulty oxygen sensor, exhaust leak, or an intake leak.
Good luck and please post your result.
Sometimes, Google makes research harder than it needs to be. Those two pictures and labels are exactly the info I needed to see. Much appreciated!!Those two Websites appear to have differing descriptions for the same part. I have no information regarding exhaust aftermarket brands, or their products' naming conventions. Here is what nomenclature Toyota dealers display for the 2010 xB exhaust parts.

I hope this is of some assistance to you and maybe some members who are knowledgeable about the Gen2 can guide you with clarification.
