Ok, since I couldnt find the Spray paint, i went ahead and put some ambers on the tails. It came out really good IMO. looks better in Person but im going to take better shots including my amber side markers.
here are the pics before during and after.

Where did you get the amber from? Is it that tape, a tint, what?

I gotta know because I have wanted to put some amber into my tails.

its vinyl.. Its left over from my vinyl business. PM me if you want some... ill post more pics tomorrow when i do my photoshoot.

So is it on the outside?

If so is it hard to get smooth and "natural" looking?

More/better pics would be great! Thanks.

yes, its on the outside.. but you can also put this on the inside ( just have to count the number of squares and mark it so you know where to put it. I used the soapy water method so its nice and smooth with no bubbles. This is just temporary also because i really want to spray paint it red with the ambers on it.

I want to paint mine amber, I can't find a good transparent amber paint though. I may have to rummage through my 1/24 scale paints.

just head over the the hobby shop and look for clear orange. it's what i used on my sidemarkers and headlights. takes a couple coats, but dries like theirs clear on there.
