I just bought a black 2012 xB and I'm going to try and get her as blacked out/murdered as I can. I wanted to put smoked or blacked out taillights on her. I don't want to use the film and would rather use a replacement taillight.

I can't seem to find any specific to my year that I like so I was wondering if these have the same wiring interface and would fit as a replacement. Does anyone have any experience with these taillights?

Appreciate the help.

Rustoleum tint spray works well. You can pick it up at your local auto supply shop for pretty cheap. I like it because you can control how dark you want to go. I tried a custom cut tint film first and it was absolutely awful.. The shape our tail lights makes it really difficult to use any kind of film/vinyl. Rustoleum is also easy to remove using rubbing alcohol or gasoline, which is good in case you mess up on your first try like I did - haha.
It's a bummer there's no tail light replacement options for the 2011+ body style. I've scoured the internet looking. You won't have the cool LED look, but this is the next best thing in my opinion. I used three coats on mine and it's a nice tint, but not completely blacked out. You can go way darker, though.. check out this video:

Well, as long as it's brought back from the dead, lemme point out that this Gen 2 above, is stunning. Not a fan of the wheels but I'm a fan of the wheels at this height/fitment/tire size. Kudos.
