Car Automotive parking light Wheel Land vehicle Tire

This is my sixth xB….and it’s giving me an issue I’ve not experienced before.

This is an automatic. It will not engage into Drive until the car is completely warmed up. Once the car is warmed up there are no shifting or transmission issues. I sit in front of my house with the car in D and it won’t move forward until it’s fully warmed up and it decides to go. At that point it drives smoothly….no
lurching or hard shifting.

Transmission fluid is full and a good color. It does not pull any codes when hooked up to a scanner.

Has 195k original miles but engine was rebuilt 70k ago.

Has anyone encountered this? And how did you fix it?

I have not, but that is bizarre and definitely worrisome. Hopefully someone on here might have a suggestion.

Is that kitty underneath it even licensed and certified to be doing transmission inspections?

I love tabbies.

It has 194k miles....engine was rebuilt 70k ago, not that that affects transmission.

Car drives and runs awesome. Just drove it across country from Florida to NM. No other transmission weirdness beyond the having to be totally warmed up to Drive.
I agree with buy128. That's the trans. I had a 08 and now I have a 2012 9.0 the 08 needed a trans after 187k miles because it was a hospital transportation car and was beat to crap. Yes Toyota/Scions can do 200-300k miles if you baby them- but I've never heard of our transmissions lasting that long if you're an aggressive driver like me. You can get a trans for $400 low miles at any JDM parts place. My .02 cents.
