There are a plethora of tow bars you can use. Stylish ones or utilitarian...

I just installed the Curt tow bar, and they sell a direct plug in trailer wire harness. I also got the Euro style 2 in. ball with 5 1/8 in rise to bring it up high enough to not ground out a trailer. It's all Curt stuff, just because I didn't feel like ordering something no name or fighting to adapt 2 inch down to 1 1/4 inch.

I don't have pics, but the amazon link should work, Euro style ball. What I loved was the trailer harness, Scion xb trailer harness, it just clicks into existing wires, no splicing required.
