Got a 2006 XB the steering wheel starts to shake at 80mph and then gradually stops. Anyone have this issue?

Gradually stops after staying at that speed, or after accelerating past that speed? (Go, Speed Racer, goooooooo)

First guess would be tire tread or composition. Are they new tires, old tires, in-between tires?

Also I recently replaced my front stabilizer bar bushings because they were beyond shot. Changed my whole driving experience. And quite easy to do, in addition. Either of these two things could be the culprit. Beyond that, no idea, sorry.

If it shakes while accelerating then you could have a CV going bad. If it’s just at one speed I’d say a tire. Try rotating them and see if it changes.

My old xB did this, too. The rims weren’t 100% the same… two were stock and two were “close enough”, but that difference gave it the shakes on the highway.
