Searching...

Maybe it's just me, but I find searching for anything on this site to be fruitless.

I've tried some of the booleans and other modifiers for searching, as per this thread:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=253432

but, it doesn't really make a difference; I still get 400 results! I was searching for "rear strut bar", and got topics about horns... this has happend a lot in the past when searching for other things.

So, is there anything that can be done, or any tips to give to make searching more effective?

TIA!!

Re: Searching...

Yea, that's what I normally do: Titles only. But I still get 400 threads that have either "rear", "strut" or "bar" in the title... not the combination of the 3! Seems like the algorithm or formula is not complete...

I searched rear strut bar title only and got the 18 results in that link.

I just use Google with modifiers. It usually leads me back here anyways.

Re: Searching...

I recreated your exact search and only got 5 results. Must be newer accounts have issues or maybe my authorized vendor causes my search results to be better.

Re: Searching...

BTW: I got the search to work a little better by making the reply count to 1, instead of 0... so that is helping!

Off Topic:

This is what I meant though: Weapon R's Roof/Trunk bar

http://www.weapon-r.com/products/119...b-xb-trunk-bar

I was just trying to see if there were any alternatives...

---------- Post added 11-02-2012 at 05:31 PM ----------

The lowest bar in this pic (used google lol) is a rear strut bar though (but it's on a shock....)

---------- Post added 11-02-2012 at 05:34 PM ----------

... I had a hunch that the weapon r braces would not do much, and the c-pillar bar thread kind-of confirms it.... /OT

The infamous GT Spec "rear strut bar" for the xB.

I've always hated that they used that name for it, as it is very misleading 'cause as you said, we run shocks on the rear.

I guess I have some more reading to do! Thanks!! This won't be a purchase for a while anyways.

FWIW: "rear shock bar" doesn't sound that great... from a marketing perspective

Gotcha, Charlie.

I have a "Club xB rear strut bar" in my garage that I've had since 2008...

(Last two pictures show it mounted in the maker's car before he sold it, I've never mounted it in mine.)
