Just read all the posts and the only thing I can tell you about the spacer is that if you use one with the 4" bolt it won't fit. There isn't enough thread left over to make a secure fitment of the nylon nut. The bushings don't compress as much as the stock ones so the measurements you see in the side by side photo are what you have when they are installed. I have no difference in spacing between the bar and the end link since installing the new ones. I drove about 50 miles today and had no trouble or noise, the handling was fine. If anyone uses the 4" bolt with a spacer let me know how it turns out.

Alright I attempted to use what I had and ran into some difficulties. The set-up I got was bigger than I thought. I was still able to use them though, by moving the spacer to the underside of the control arm. I will be cutting the spacer in half and getting it where it goes. But this will work for now.

If I was able to get it in, the top of the bolt would hit the axle. But half the spacer should work. With no spacer, it did shorten the space between the Control arm and the Sway bar making them less stiff, so they are definatally in need of atleast a 1/4" spacer to get them back to normal specs. I will try to get a half inch in for a little more tention. It will be a few days till I get a chance to do it though.

So basically what you have now is the same thing as just having no spacer, but a longer bolt lol. Good luck with shorter spacer.

I don't really know, I didn't notice too much. I just wanted to replace the stock ones after looking at them.

Pretty much, and no extra cost on new bolts and no extra trips. Definitely needs spacers though, the space between the bar and control arm is about 1/4 - 1/2 shorter, so it will probably lean just as much as before to make up for that difference.

It was a busy day here at Casa de TAZ, I replaced the sway bar bushings on three more Boxes. Rodney (hawaiianbuilt), Kurt & Kurt (ocxb) and Pat (Cravin) came by the house and we changed out everyone's old sway bar bushings.

Kurt got into the act on his Box.

Here's the left overs from the change outs...

Everyone noticed an improvement in handling and less play in the steering. I highly recommend this mod. For the cost, the results are awesome!

I found this on there site. It looks like my bar and control arm are parallel, but I know it's not the same spacing it was before.

If you're still having trouble lining this up you could measure the distance of someone's who hasn't made the change and then size it up with yours.

Normally that would be while the car is sitting on the ground under it's own weight at normal ride height. It would change from parallel then.
