Question Please help a rookie

I bought a 2008 xB a few months ago from a dealership. The carfax showed left rear damage, but it looked like it was repaired right and it was a decent price. At the time, I noticed that the rear tires had just been replace; but didn't think much of it. Well recently it started hopping in the rear, like I had a tire out of round or something. The first time I looked, the tires still looked new. It wasn't until I looked under the car that I saw that the right rear tire is almost down to the cords, but only on the inside 1 1/2" or so. PLEASE< ANY ADVICE OR IDEAS?

How do the shocks look? If they are blown, they can cause wear like that. Also have the alignment checked. If they cant align it, I would start looking for another car.

Blown shock, bent axle, or bent body at the upper shock mount area would be the main things I would look at. Obviously the blown shock is the best hope and easiest to fix.

If it's a bent axle, I have a spare one I can sell you if you are somewhere near SoCal.
