Question Location of front and rear jack points (not side)

I already know where the jack points are along each rail of the car, but the MANUAL shows 2 more jacking spots - one somewhere between the rear wheels, and one between the front wheels. It lets you get up quicker by using these 2 points instead of 4.

But when I go and look for these jack points under the xB, there does not appear anything which looks like the service manual at all. In looking at the rear, if you go much further forward than the wheel brace (?), then you hit the gas tank. So, I don't seem any space except on the rear crossmember So where is this magical "cone shaped" jacking point which the manual speaks of, and it THAT supposed to be the rear jacket point?

Same deal with he front; I see the subframe and would assume you could jack the front up under the subframe so long as your jacking point is not way way from where the subframe meets the body.

Am I on course?

thanks

I snagged the picture below from this rear disc brake DIY thread - https://www.clubxb.com/forums/scion-x...ead-right.html and circled the cone-shaped point mentioned in the manual. There are two on the rear, and they sometimes get removed because a hitch mounts to the same point underneath the car.

You've got to be kidding - you mean that plate hanging down which has a wall thickness of an eight of an inch, max? I believe it's function is perhaps a pulling location, where you hook a strap to the car and pull the car out. Jack it up by that? I'd be afraid if it's 1/8" plate. More so if they are in the front, since a lot more weight is there.

How come this does not jive with the locations shown in the manual? Also, I thought the idea of the center jack points was to simplify jacking to only 2 points. It looks to me like, at least in the rear, you have one on each side, requiring jacking both the right and the left sides of the rear.

I appreciate the effort, but I'm skeptical. Perhaps there are additional jacking points which you found when changing springs - just the wrong points for jacking up the whole front at once and the whole rear at once.
