Help...rear bumper pulled

Hello,

I accidentally hit the siding of my house and the rear bumper was pulled along
with the side of my vehicle being dented. I've attached pics of the damage. Has anyone encountered this issue, and if so, what steps and tools
Were needed to fix this? I'm hoping
I can pop the bumper back into place.
Thanks! Help...rear bumper pulled-img_5708.jpgHelp...rear bumper pulled-img_5709.jpgHelp...rear bumper pulled-img_5707.jpgHelp...rear bumper pulled-img_5710.jpgHelp...rear bumper pulled-img_5706.jpg

Look inside the fender well. There should be a bracket that holds the cover to the car. That hole was probably ripped. It may hold still if you put it back in place.

Re: Help...rear bumper pulled

Thanks. I was able to remove the screw, push the bumper in, and re-screw which placed the bumper back into position.

Had the same thing happen on same side! Sometimes the hole where the bracket inserts to the body will become distorted and the retaining clip will actually pull out through that hole. All you need is a ball-peen hammer (round side) to hammer it flat and it will keep the bracket in place.

Hopefully it holds up! Glad to see it worked out.

Re: Help...rear bumper pulled

Thanks! Only problem I have now is the dent to the side. I tried the compressed air and blow drier method and it worked a little bit. I'm going to try hot water and plunger instead. Have any of you tried these methods to remove dents?
