I do what I can, but wife fusses at me to not over do it. Scar tissue is causing a problem right now. But it's getting better.

Not sure where Frank and Ray fall in place. Think I'm a year or 2 younger than Jeff.

Those hardwoods look beautiful! No cupping anywhere and nice grain patterns. Great work!

Re: Club40+

Ahh, Deb. That was the very first project I did the day we got the keys to our home. Before we put in our offer, the agent had mentioned that she thought the original oak flooring was underneath the '70 "wall to wall" carpeting when we first viewed the house, so I took it upon myself to yank up a corner in the hallway to see for myself (you can imagine the look on her face when I did).

30 days later, we got the keys at 12 noon. Wife went back to work, and I went out and got a carpet knife, some twine, dust masks and removed 3 rooms of carpet (plus some that were in one closet plus the hallway) in a couple of hours. Yeah, I was bushed.

Re: Club40+

You're soooo right, Jeff. It was one of those projects that makes you ask yourself "why didn't I get some help doing this?!"

On the other hand, after all the carpet and yucky padding were removed, and the floors polished and waxed, it was so worth the effort. Wife couldn't believe I had it all done when she got home from work a couple of hours later.

And yes, the dogs learned very quickly to slow down or else slide all over the place (which is pure comedy).
