I would search your local junk yards for a donor vehicle. Then clip the wiring back 6 or 8 inches from the plug. Then splice into your harness. Odds are slim of getting that plug and wiring from the dealer.

Really? You guys don’t think they have replacements for it anymore?
And do you think that’s what’s triggering my engine code p0441 p0442 and P0446?
Everything else runs great that seems to be the only piece that looks broken.
And the rest feels perfect when I drive.

Manufacturers are only required to provide replacement parts for 10 years. You ask about replacement part. I gave you my suggestion. It's your choice

Re: Help on buying 05 XB

Ok, got to understand that they quit making parts for our boxes 12 years ago !! They may have them but not every dealer stocked every item that made up our xB's !!! But as you have shown us that there are wires that are broke off, there are not many of us left that know everything about our cars as it was like 5 years ago !! If it take care of the codes that is great but I do not know but somewhere down the road you will have wished that they were connected for sure !!!

Like wagonbldr stated go to a junk yard and hope they my have one for you !!!!

Re: Help on buying 05 XB

These codes are consistent with a failed Carbon Canister. I have a x04 and am on my 3rd. The design of these are flawed in that the solenoid on this part fails due to rust. (I live in a snowy place.) Testing is easy. The canister is in the extreme back on the left hand side--jack up the car. USE JACKSTANDS!. Get a 9 volt battery with two long leads. The canister has an electrical connection with two prongs inside the connector--pull the connector and apply the 9v to the two pins. If you hear a distinct click the canister is probably ok. If not get a new/used one. Myself I go to a junk yard that lets you pull them and buy for about $15/ New it costs about $200 for aftermarket. Online used part cost about $100. I would avoid the Dorman unit as I installed a new one that failed in 2 years and 11 months. If you buy new get it from a source that offers 3 year guarantee as Dorman itself only offers 3 years. It is pretty easy to change with the exception of the gas fitting--I had to cut the connector off as I never could get it off. Just trim off the fitting and reattach with a hose clamp. That works ok.

You can also test the purge valve==up front on the air intake--same drill--take off the connector and test with the battery.

If the canister and purge value are good, it might be a disconnected hose or a leaking rotted metal line going to the gas tank. I had the latter. A smoke test is needed to diagnose this if the source of the leak cannot be seen--. Good luck. Enjoy your car!

There are a number of postings here and elsewhere on these issues.

One more thing...if you live in a place without emissions testing, just forget fixing it--the car runs perfectly well with these faults, it just does not suck some fumes back into the circulating vapor systems.
