Thanks on both counts guys!

I'm pretty happy overall with how it is now so its not one of those builds that will change looks every season. I really just want a full body work/respray done to get it all the exact same color and to get all thr dents/dings/scratches out haha. Not settled on if it'll stay white or not when that day comes. We will see

And we find out tomorrow if it's a boy or Girl! Incredibly excited!!

Back on the forums! Anyone around anymore??

Small update: News + RU card holder + maintenance + pics

Since the last update, I'm a new father to a baby girl! So exciting/tiring, born 9/5!

As for the car, Nick wad amazing and made me a card holder, simple and nice.

Had to reaffix the lower door cards once already, the jdm door cards being pretty slick and me applying the velcro when it eas cold out. All better now! And just trying to keep it clean!!

And lastly, a pic and a fun render!

That is all.

Re: Building a Better Box; Bamboo's Build

Thanks Dubee! She is exhausting me currently but they make them cute for a reason.

Update: DC Sports Header

Install coming soon

Going with wrapping the shifter linkage in heat wrap instead of wrapping the header. Easier and the dc is ceramic coated anyways.

Stoked for the performance enhancement, not looking forward to breaking those bolts lol

That is all

Was that Nick's old header? I wish I would have had my header coated or something. The heat difference is quite a bit compared to the stock header with the heat shield. I may go with a ceramic coated DC this winter.

Yeah this was Nick's. Which one are you running now? I'm a little nervous for no real reason by losing the heat shield for the header. Especially since i run the blitz exhaust which already takes in too much hot air imo. I'm hoping the ceramic coating manages the heat well. Didnt you run a blitz at one point?

Im running a DME SS that Mike Ma sells. I'm sure the coating makes a difference. I did have the blitz on for a short time before switching out to the TRD. Prior to installing the header, I ran it for quite some time. Once the header was installed, I felt it was way too hot in the bay for that intake.

The bB has the same tubular headers on both 1nz/fe and 2nz/fe engine options, this is stainless and was factory fitted. It looks much the same shape as the one in this thread. It's at least a part of the reason that the almost stock 1.3 (NCP30) I run (seen below..) makes such a wonderful noise when I use the kickdown to pass slower moving traffic on my daily drive into town and back.

The part is available from Megazip, but they're not cheap:

Link: https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...#/il-131479503

the $369.17 one is the stainless one, the $255.70 alternative is a mild steel part, but genuine Toyota also.

Yeah... im thinking of switching to a CAI cause of the placement and possible heat issues. Maybe sooner tham later with the header going in soon.

I did not know this information! I doubt though the expense is worth it when comparable parts exist from dme, weapon r, dc sports, and more for much less.

Update: Goodbye heat shield and custom Carrozzerias!

Slow going on the header install. I did manage to get the heat shield off in the 20 minutes my daughter napped lol

The bolts were so rusted i sheared the top two off while torquing and couldn't get the bottoms off. So i worried the shield back and forth until they snappes off on their own accord!

Next up, since i changed over to jdm door cards and lost my rear speaker pods, ive wanted to get window speakers. Reached out to Don in Japan who told me unfortunately he cant ship magnets/speakers through post anymore due to regulations. He also had a super scratched up set of panels: see below

So not really show quality by any means. I still wanted to move forward though with shipping them without speakers and replacing those stateside. We decided the best way to handle the scratches was FROST those bad boys! I'm over the moon how they came out and now the hunt for replacement components begins. Huge shoutout again to Don for his awesomeness!

That is all.

Thank you! I hope so too lol

Been awhile but time for some updates!

1st Update: Carrozerria progress

So its been near impossible to find speakers that exactly fit the holes for the original 3 point speaker brackets. So it forces me to drill the panels to fit new speakers. I found a pioneer product with similar power specs (ts-d1330c) and I plan to use the oem crossover boxes. Hopefully it all meshes well. I have a few pics test fitting the brackets, speakers, and tweeters.

Going to need to notch the brackets for existing posts on the panels but I believe it should all work out well.

2nd update: AUDIOFORMZ!

I've always been a fan of audioformz in the rear hatch as a clean looking rear setup that is relatively easy to install. They have been much harder to come by lately which makes it all the better that this set paint matched polar white came up for grabs! Big thanks to Phil for the hookup on them and I can't wait to modify these a bit to go perfectly with everything else!

3rd update: Trunk tank setup

Also picked up from Phil a rear strut bar mount with an air tank to complete the hatch area. Havent decided what I'm going to do to the tank to make it work with the build but I'll figure it out. All I plan to do is add this in line from my outer air tank to the feedline so it'll just expand the total air capacity to 8 gal and make for a clean look up top

4th update: New backup bags!

The bags on my car right now are 5 years old this coming spring and I was starting to get concerned that they would need replacement sooner than later. So when Phil offered me a deal on these, I had to snap them up! Now I have some piece of mind should one fail that I have a set waiting to go in.

And to finish, @Rcdrift was kind enough to gif an old pic of mine with some movement

That is all.

It really is getting harder to find some things! JDM stuff seems to be getting more prevalent though now that more people know how to buy from the Yahoo Japan auctions lol

Update: drilling frosted carrozerias

This is me ruining jdm parts lol drilling to fit the brackets for the new speakers. The acrylic for the panels is thick and great quality, so no cracking or issues drilling into them.

So with the brackets and grills installed I think I'm going to go without the grill cover and paint the black ring white to match the surround for the tweeter and the audioformz below. Once it warms up, a quick paint job should get it there.

Update: Audioformz amp bed customization

Tying the new pieces in with my clazzios and other diamond stitch accents.

That is all.

Re: Building a Better Box; Bamboo's Build

Update: Carrozzerias are finished!

Decided to incorporate the grills, looked unfinished without them. One issue I had was figuring out what lead was positive or negative going to the tweeter. If anyone is interested, the female bullet connector to the tweeter is negative and the male bullet it the positive line. Anyways, here are some pics!

And a little detail work to get some patterns lined up very happy how it all came out

That is all.

Thanks dubee! More work than I expected honestly lol

Update: Carrozzerias all finished up, Audioformz modified, everything installed!

Ready to go in!

Next up, I used some of my diamond stitch material I still had laying around to make a "bed" for the amplifier in the audioformz amp opening.

I think it came out pretty well!

Lastly, I had to undo my old amp and sub wiring and extend a mess of wires to work in the new configuration. But once it was finished, put it all together!

Test fit. Different socks required.

Beyond those, took a few more interior shots since it has been awhile since it has all been together.

That is all.

I keep trying to get a good picture but I get so much glare from reflections lol

I'll get a good one eventually!

Update: tank bar modification and air tank wrap

So i received the tank bar and tank from another squad member, but I wanted to change up how and where the bar and tank were mounted. Required cutting off a few inches off each side so I could mount the bar facing the rear.

This allowed me to cut the strut tower caps from the rear to keep it clean.

Next, I drilled holes to mount the tank with the legs in the rear, effectively running the tank on its side. I think it's a cleaner look for a floating tank.

Next up, got a vinyl wrap embroidered with our squad logo and went to town on it!

Very happy how this is panning out!

That is all.
