Anybody know who built this '04 RS 1.0?

I just picked it up to replace my Black Beauty (that replaced by RS 2.0, RIP) that got sandwiched on the freeway. Not a good year for me and xB's so far.

Spent the weekend going through it making mechanically sound, etc. Got all the speakers firing, but when I pulled the center dash to try and get that big ol Video Monitor operating, was greeted with a very sophisticated bunch of wires, sensors, relay, etc. So I'd really like to connect with who ever did this build originally. I can always swap the head unit set up from my old car, but I'd really like to have that big ol Monitor and have ideas how to piggy back into that old system to make it act like a more current set up.

Anybody seen this car before? I have a suspicion it came out of Arizona.

Thanks

Re: Anybody know who built this '04 RS 1.0?

Looks like it has IS300 seats front and back, can you take some more pictures of them? That's one mod I was hoping to do to my XB, IS300 seats are amazingly comfortable, and just easy on the eyes. I don't really enjoy the stock seats, but I'm curious what's exactly involved with getting them to mount up properly and get the electrics working. Please put up some pictures of the seats, and how they are mounted if you can. I'm sure the wiring isn't too difficult to figure out, but perhaps it was the member on here who swapped in IS300 seats front and back? He had quite a few different custom cars, but never put out too much info from what I remember reading, but I know he did full IS300 seat swap and yours looks to be the same...

Re: Anybody know who built this '04 RS 1.0?

They're actually just stock xB seats that have been re-upholstered. The driver seat had some wear and tear on the bolsters, so having it redone.

Wiring shouldn't be difficult, just need a wiring diagram for an IS300 and a 1st Gen xB to map wires. But both being Toyota products, assuming the connectors are the same, should be plug n play.

Mounting would indeed be the challenge. The xB bottom doesn't have removable rails as I recall. So would require a bunch of cutting and bending to fabricate to receive the IS300 seats. I've got some Recaro's I've been wanting to retrofit to my xB, so grabbed a couple bottom sections from a Pic a Part yard for that someday future project.

I've seen a set up in another xB with Recaro's that was fully functioning sliders and also had height adjust ability. If those can be had, probably the best option for either of us.

Looks clean, excluding the passenger bumper corner, probably easy fix. I thought they were IS300 seats also, they are so comfy. Dash is really unique.

No doubt there's a cosmetic uh oh under that sticker. This weekend is the first real weekend I've had to start getting into cosmetics. Fingers crossed most of the uh oh will buff out.

Also looking forward to getting to know and start mapping out the wiring of this sophisticated sound system. Probably the best and cleanest sounds I've ever heard in any car much less an xB. The head unit and headrest monitors are Nesa brand if that helps identify it.

Really looking forward to getting that big ol Monitor working. Looks about the size of what you see in Tesla's. What's crazy is the build includes headrest monitors on the BACKSEAT head rests which further suggests it was a car built for shows.

Last weekend was all about making sure everything was mechanically sound so I knew I was good to make it my driver.

On subject, DTrain just pm'd me and unfortunately not familiar with it. Darn.

YUP!! When I saw that, coupled with everything else it had I knew I wasn't leaving without it. The way the headliner was molded to it, it looks like it was an option done at the factory.

What I paid for it? Shhhhhh, secret. *

*But not much different that what I paid for soon to be RIP Black Beauty.
