Super comfy, the stock xB seats have no lumbar support, makes you sit half a foot lower

Really? That is awesome. My FRS has the most comfy seats Iíve ever had. Iíd like to take seats from a TC, Ive seen some at a few scrap yards and they look nice.

With these 10k springs the stock seats may get old real quick

$280 on eBay, not bad for a $600 beater!!

Update on these, they ride great, I have the dampening set at max because itís pretty low. Only con Iíve noticed so far is that it seems as if I have a degree of positive camber in the front... Iíll be installing smaller bolts to correct this.

I already replaced everything with brand new parts except the bumper cover.

My boss went and bought me a brand new radiator and fan assembly. I need a new bumper cover to he said he'll take care of that I just had to find one. Maybe this is the push I need to break down and actually pull that new Garson dad kit out of the raftersin the garage...

Tried to repress the baljoints and they wen in by finger. Got the same brand ballpoint as the arm, same story there. So I'll have to get a full assembly and I bought expensive balljoints for nothing.

That stinks, looks like a Celica. Did the airbag pop, I'm sure someone here would want that Toyota steering wheel.

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

While working on engine swap yesterday, got curious about front brakes. My 2010 xB rotors are 275mm in diameter. 2007 RAV4 rotors are 296mm in diameter. By swapping the caliper mount and rotors from the RAV4, You can getting a cheap brake upgrade. And the calipers between the 2 have the same piston size and mount in the correct location.

Not telling everyone to try this. Just what I found that fit.

I bought some oem NGK plugs and the idle had been good since, hopefully it fixed the issue!
I had a similar experience with the Iridium IX series. It may have been a heat range issue as my engine is stock, so I went back to the Iridium OE. Also, the OE's have a longer life than the IX's. I indexed both sets of plugs, so that alignment was not a factor.

I actually had the same issue with the iridium IX plugs. After some research I realized they run too hot- they were white! With the OE part number plugs it runs great now. A little bit of idle surge so Iíll be tracking a vacuum leak soon more than likely...

Great information Jim!. I realize those are five lug discs, so I cannot try them.

The daughter's 2005 xB has 255 front discs and 269 rear discs. I initially considered increasing the front to 275 to assure front bias; but ten years of flawless performance with the conversion have proven the current setup works well. With this ratio, if ABS ever engages, the entire xB drops down level, and does not dip in the front.

Your tenacity with the xB is laudable; it pays a great dividend.

Among the other hoses, check the Purge Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) at the air box. Neither the throttle body purge hose nor the canister purge hose have factory clamps. These are among the rubber hoses which harden and allow leaks. They can contribute to a rough idle, and can let gasoline vapor escape. No need to replace either entire hose unless you want; there should be enough length of each hose to cut about an inch off and press back on. A simple fuel line compression clamp is useful.

I checked that hose already, there was a crack right in the middle. I just used some high quality elec tape for now until I replace the hose.

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

So I have spent a few late nights in the garage.... I installed a Toyota bb crash bar (silver) which is actually half as thick as the USDM crash bar. It does not directly bolt up. I had to use the plasma cutter to make new mounting holes that would line up for the usdm bumper mounts.

Using my plasmas cutter and welders, I have been fabricating a whole new front end. My hood is now in 2 pieces and edges are capped and splits 50/50. I'm still fabricating the hinges and mounts for the hood to open, close, and latch correctly.

I am also working out the details for several other major body modifications I plan on completing. Sometimes I think I'm never gonna finish this damn xB...
