Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Rough day... I was parked at a jobsite and my boss had a suburban about 15 feet in front of me. he got in his suburban and it was stacked floor-to-ceiling so he didn't see the xb. reversed and went back and slam right into it. Didn't look too bad. Till I went to start it. The two hitch crushed the radiator and the AC condenser, front of the bumper, dented the cross brace, crushed the fan up against the motor. it was an accident so I can't be real pissed off. basically it was his tow hitch that went through everything.

I already replaced everything with brand new parts except the bumper cover.

My boss went and bought me a brand new radiator and fan assembly. I need a new bumper cover to he said he'll take care of that I just had to find one. Maybe this is the push I need to break down and actually pull that new Garson dad kit out of the raftersin the garage...

They have an MRI scheduled for this Friday for my neck and my back to find out where the nerve is pinched and what we can do to try to resolve it.

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Airbag light came on the other day. Not sure why it would, as I was driving when it happened. Havenít looked at it in a day or two, plus my scanner couldnít pick up any airbag codes if thats even a thing?

Iíll have some time tomorrow to take a look but Iím not sure where to begin. Service manuals here I come

My bet, given it came on while you were driving, one of the plugs to one of your wheel sensors came loose. ABS scanner will tell you which one. Or just reach behind each wheel, wiggle and push. Maybe wrap a zip tie around the one that came loose.

New member here.. today I hopefully fixed my misfire issue. I recently bought a 05 xB and replaced the plugs with iridiums but started to get a small misfire. I replaced those with the plugs that came with the car when I bought it (older than dirt) and had a crazy misfire- sounded like a Subaru with an UEL header.. I bought some oem NGK plugs and the idle had been good since, hopefully it fixed the issue!

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

My new moog ball joints popped out of the bottom of the control arms. Hopefully its because they didn't get pressed in all the way and not because the control arms aren't specced right.

Today I installed maxpeedingrods coils up front (rears I’m going to have to use a grinder due to the bushings being seized) I’ll get to those after I get back from vacation. For anyone looking at these budget coils I’d highly recommend them. 10k front 5k rear, 24 way dampening, slight camber adjustment (slotted mount) and really good adjustment. I can go about an inch and a half lower (those are 16” wheels)
$280 on eBay, not bad for a $600 beater!!

Also I didn’t mean that as a review of the coils or anything I just really like them!

I’ve had this happen with my FRS from jacking up the control arm.. luckily for me I just tapped it back in and was good to go (about a year ago, I drive it hard every day)

---------- Post added 08-30-2019 at 03:24 PM ----------

Hereís with them installed all around, finished it up last night after packing for vacation. Iím pretty happy with it!
