Thank you for those that helped with info and pics.
As far as I'm concerned this topic is beat to death. I'm not sure what we will be doing to the xb if anything but I am sure ill be extremely cautious with posting here from now on.
Here's to being different, just like everyone else.

Easy fella! I have a couple pieces spray dipped cuz they were jacked and I don't budget yet repaint, getting there but not yet. Hood was road blasted, spoiler flaking, lip was cracked and blasted, deck lid had JB weld gooped on it to hold the busted trim on.
Now the black cherry and flat black live in harmony just as King dreamed about!

Well that's different. I think that looks pretty good. I just think someone taking an entire BMW m5, like someone did here, and spraying plastic all over it is a waste.

I guess the chalkboard thing is pretty much my fault. It kinda caught on when I did it back in 05. Whoops.

Well its one thing for a couple people to do something, but for a bandwagon to start its another. I guess its not really the idea of chalkboarding or dipping a car I think is stupid, moreso the fact that i think its stupid that its a fad that caught on so rapidly throughout the car scene. But to each his own, it's not up to me what someone does, hence why you'll rarely see me talking negative about someone else's style.

Re: Line-X bedliner on xb?
i chalkboarded my car cus i didnt see any in illinois at the time and its a blast at the local car events gives the kids something to do and gets them hopefully into cars? who knows. but its alot of fun. im going to move on from it as soon as i can afford to but it was fun to watch everyone get so excited to turn my car into some new piece of artwork every week.
and i will say it held up to the weather much better than expected
just my 2 cents
i

Re: Line-X bedliner on xb?
id say if you want to do it do it...i think some people might be forgetting that everyones tastes differ and while this isnt my cup of tea persay you should do what you like.
it might end up better than anyone thinks if done right who knows. or you know we could all just not try anything different and then there would be no point in half these forums really.

That was the original question, so any opinion is OK to post i guess.
IMO to paint the whole xB with it is bad. Accent painting may look nice, like just the lips, skirts, grill etc.

Re: Line-X bedliner on xb?
I'd been fiberglassing my upper grill, and in it's current state it looks like it's made from a textured bed-liner. It got me thinking of trying that to the hood of my car. I plan on experimenting with plasti-dip, trying to get a texture out of it like rhino or line-x liners.
Does anyone have experience with tryign to get a rough texture with plasti dip?
here's a pick of the wool/fiberglass resin front grill. Gotta extend that lowest portion to fill the gap.
