Removing stock door speakers

Anyone have a DIY on this for an 06? Should I drill them out or is there some special tool to remove the rivets? Thanks!

You just have to drill them out. But you will either have to drill new holes for the new speakers or make brackets to work with the old holes. I did brackets for all my speakers.

just drill out the center, find a drill bit a little larger than the little center indent, and drill till it's loose. you can get new brackets from crutchfield, and if you order speakers from crutchfield you can useally get the brackets and install stuff for free.......

Another option after drilling out the rivets is to cut open the factory speakers, remove the baskets and use these as your mounting brackets.

I made some out of wood, but have trouble getting the speaker centered compared to the door panel.

I don't have a nice wood shop or I would've built my own also...just went the most simple route, which seems to have worked out fine
