trouble codes

I am reading two trouble codes' p2239 and p2252. I cannot find the list of code descriptions anywhere. Does anybody have them or can you tell me what these codes mean?

Both are related to the first O2 Sensor problems (the one right before the Cat) problems. Should be covered by factory warranty.

I already changed out that o2 sensor and the engine is running great. I used an aftermarket 4 wire sensor and spliced into the existing wire. Do you think that would make a difference? And where did you get your code info?

The codes have something to do with the ground circuit for that O2 Sensor if i remember. Why did you have to replace the sensor to begin with? And are you 100% sure you got the wires connected properly?

Sorry to be a bother on your day off, but I must have damaged it when I put on the strup header, which caused a throttle surge. The replacement took care of the surge, but the lights still came on. I wired the new sensors according to the manufacturing chart, but that doesn't mean it is correct. The two wires to the heater should be interchangable, and the other two wires must be correct because the engine surge went away. Maybe it is not compatible or reading too slow. Any help would be appreciative and enjoy your Christmas. Thanks

Yeah, i remember that thread now.
First of all try to check if you got the right replacement sensor. Just because it has 4 wires and bolts in doesn't mean that it will work properly. Is it possible that your car uses broadband O2 sensor and you somehow got the regular universal one installed? Just thinking, gotta check the basics first.

Thanks for that bit of info. I didn't know there were different types. Maybe I will hit up the dealership for the right one and see what happens. Are you sure these codes refer to the 1st stage bank 1 sensor? I hate to spend $127 on an educated guess.

Thanks PCH, but these are '05 tc codes for the restraint system. What else you got floating around the shop? Anything for '08 xb? Possibly in the engine trouble codes department? LOL

I know they are for tC, but the numbers should not change, esp since its same engine.

OK, good luck! From what i understand you either got the wiring hooked-up wrong or you are using the wrong sensor for your car.

Yes PCH, I needed to save for a new A/F sensor. The best price was at scionpro @ $206. Expensive little bugger. I ordered it last week and should be arriving any day now. I will keep you posted. Thanks, Joe

Steve, I didn't install the header for hp gain as much as I did for show appearance. I also liked the idea that the engine would breathe a little better. I am in FL and we don't have emission inspections. The assembly lines up well and the finish has blued a little, and it seems very well made. If you are looking for more power, check out the weapon r intake manifold and short air intakes.

Why did you replace your a/f sensor? Which CEL eliminator did you install on the s-pipe 02 sensor when you installed the header? I used a 304 angled adapter I got from ebay for $30 and haven't had a CEL in about 5k miles after installing my header.

I replaced the sensor because I believe it cracked during installation. I am using a cel eliminator on the o2 sensor on the s pipe which works fine. I did a bench test on the a/f sensor and it is definitely bad. Reading 0volts hot and cold.

PROBLEM SOLVED. The new a/f sensor came in today. I installed it and the cel is off. Thanks for everybody's help. I am anxious to see my mileage now. I have been getting 24mpg in town and on the highway, weather I drove easy or hard. This should make a difference.
