Scion xB Audio, Video, & Security Scion xB in car entertainment (aka Scion xB I.C.E.). With all the room available the sky is the limit when adding Scion xB car audio and video. While you're tinkering with the Scion xB electrical system why not install a Scion xB security system.

You can it just matters how creative you are with the install and how much room the subwoofers need....

Re: (2) 15" subs??

yeah it depends on if you want more looks, or you want the subs to sound their best. and or how much air space the subs need as well.

the 12s that I am running needed a little over 3 cubic feet of air space for each sub to be in spec.

Re: (2) 15" subs??

i have a similar question. i just bought a box of 3 inverted 10s and 2 amps. im thinking of fabn a shelf that folds down from the back of the seats that would sit just over the speakers (when i want the space).

Re: (2) 15" subs??

To the OP:

Check the manual on your speakers and see if they have a recommended shallow enclosure. Most standard depth 15" subs can be mounted in rather small boxes. However, there is a great deal of tuning involved by doing this so you don't damage your equipment. It may also be beneficial to run a ported box - though this could easily introduce port noise if not designed correctly.

If it's at all possible, you'd most likely have to build a downfire box to keep the trunk area usable. I also had 15's in my xB, in 2 very different setups, both sounded well with the proper tuning. Is it possible? Yeah, it just depends on what you have to work with.

Whats the big deal about 15's?
I guarentee you I can find way more powerfull 12's but then again you might have to pay a little extra.

Re: (2) 15" subs??

If you want to maximize space with that much air movement I would suggest running the two 15's in an isobaric setup aka where the speakers are cone-cone with one in a cabinet and the other outside the cabinet then attach the amps to the side IF you were looking to maximize space with that much woof
