Re: is anybody running wire wheels

hahaha..everytime this subject comes up...the first post is "why would you want to run wires?" lol...anyways.. My friend has ran 15" and 13" wires on his box. The 15" were for front wheel drive cars, but they have a pretty high offset. For some reason wires never post their offsets, they're always advertised as "front wheel, rear wheel, or reversed offset". Do a search and more info will come up. The bar on the top of the front calipers had to be cut off for them to fit. You could also grind it down till it fits too. The rears fit fine without any modification. The 13" wires he had were reverse offset and they stuck out like crazy. probably had 6"-7" of poke at least. They work...just need to do some grinding or find spacers that work with adapters. I've seen them out there before.

Re: is anybody running wire wheels

yeah that's him! He sold the 13's, but still has the 15's. we had to put his stock suspension back on cause his ebay coilovers popped a rear spring. The thing went flying out when he was driving and the fender was sitting on the tire lol.... after that the 13's were to small for stock height.

He still hasn't got the curtain back to you???!!! PM me your number incase he lost it, and I'll give him a call tonight.

Being I live in the city of San Fernando, there's alot of low rider types in the area. Just so happens there's a PW on wires just around the corner from me. Will post a picture of it the next time I'm in the area.

Daytons FTW!!!!

Love these direct bolt wires - eliminates the worry and problem of knock offs. And Dayton does have em in 4 lug! BTW I will envy you like crazy if you get some Daytons!

I don't know about the offset issue, but their catalog does have "backspace" listed in inches.

I called Dayton about 2 years ago asking about fitment on an xB with their 100 spokes. They said at the time they didn't have anything that would fit, but were working on something that would work. They were saying that they are starting to see how people are customizing xB's, and want to get a product out for it. Haven't heard or seen anything yet though.

Re: is anybody running wire wheels

I know this is an old thread, so pleas don't shoot me, lol.

But I never saw any info in here about what offset etc would be needed to run a set of 20' wire wheels on a 1st gen xB.

Also anyone have any good places to order from?

These will be going on an RS4 and I was thinking that the chrome lip with the black spokes like as posted in here would look best, but I can't find anywhere to get them.

Any help on this would be great.
